Have you tried to simply configure a dos box with the option "don't let programs detect windows" and then install/run Privateer? Maybe then it will run in this window and you don't need to: - reboot - make any changes to your config.sys and autoexec.bat

I got my informations about the P2 deluxe edition from http://www.origin.ea.com/privateer/p2/main.html According to this page, Win9x and DirectX 5+ is required, so it seems thats it does not simply run in a DOS window but is fully integrated in win9x. My main problem with the DOS version...
