    the problem there is i doubt the admiral is the type to ask when he suspects the answer will be no. unlike before, he doesn't have the "mutual benefit" card to play. he could just take the gun, and when the main character shows up to ask about it, goodin meets him and basically tells him...

    autopilot doesn't restore shields (debatable - it didn't in the original game, if memory serves, but probably should have) - neither does landing, which definitely should.

    basically, to the repair screen, 10% is not overall percentage of armor remaining, but worst damage to armor - ie at the weakest point, the armor is 90% gone.

    i think this engine handles armor as an overall thing, rather than the original's four-facings handling. which can be a pain, because you can no longer keep a damaged side away from enemy. on the plus side, they can't do it to you either.

    hmm. that wasn't so hard as i was expecting. they rammed each other, they flak-ed each other, and they never even took my shields down. amusingly enough, you can just sit 2km away right in front of them and shoot them dead - the wingtip guns can't hit you. for some reason, half of them departed...

    if memory serves, in the original games, FF missiles didn't require anything. no lock, no target, no nothing. just kick them into space and let them fly. of course, they do require a radar that can do IFF, but besides that...
