    Arrow and Wraith in Simulator

Oh, that's okay. It kind of ingratiates (sp?) my ego when I plug the cheat in. "That was the move of a true master!" Yeah...I know. I just wanted to hear the simulator say it. :p

    Secret Ops Question

Eh, I think there were at least a couple of gun turrets below the engines, if I remember correctly. I seem to remember surviving hits in a Devastator and a Vampire, but dammit, that plasma gunner was WAAAAAAAY too trigger-happy! First, I'd hear the Cerberus screaming for cover. Then I'd...

    Arrow and Wraith in Simulator

Mine did the same thing. I had a complete reworking of my machine done a while ago...my drive letter got changed with one of my hard drives and I had to reinstall nearly everything. I'd re-downloaded the full package, and I'm also having to use the cheat code to get to my beloved Arrow. It...

    Sheffield Class Destroyer

I LIKE IT!!!!! This is just cool as all get-out. More, please! :D

    Difficulty of Standoff

I probably ought to try that at some point, then. I guess I just get too engrossed in either keeping my butt alive or taking down someone I've locked onto and choose my next victim from there. Might be something I need to incorporate into the thought process on a regular basis...

    Difficulty of Standoff

heh...yeah. One mission that I can almost never clear in SO is the strike force escort where you're teaming up with a bunch of Thunderbolts and Excaliburs. They did a good job on that mission to throw enough Devil Ray fighters at you to keep you busy while everyone else gets picked off one by...

    Sheffield Class Destroyer

Yeah, there are so many different classes and types of ships that have borne the same name over the years that a singular name to a different class ship doesn't really mean much. Even if it's not canonical, I think you're right on the point there...it'll happen someday with one ship, and in the...

All Aboard The Starship Tiger Claw (June 24, 2007)

Heh...now I'm going to have to go back and watch Troy again...

    Why the switch (Torpedoes)

That's true. Weapon tech, and the ships that carry them, usually seem to progress faster than anything else when it comes to wars.

    Difficulty of Standoff

Hmm...I just did visual scanning and taunted pretty much everyone that my targeting autolock locked onto. I figured that pretty much anyone who was going to take up position behind the Sao Paulo was in my kill zone and was, therefore, toast. Just me, but instead of concentrating on everyone...

    Difficulty of Standoff

Just me, but I use the Top Gun Fox 2 from Thrustmaster. Then again, I was very much used to my original Afterburner...had to buy a similar one when that one finally crumbled under the weight of my usage, and the Fox 2 is almost identical to the Afterburner, save that is has no throttle...

    Wrath of Khan

That's a funny thought. I don't remember anything that would warrant a protest like this except for the first few of the original series, and Berman certainly wasn't a part of it at that time.

    Wrath of Khan

That was the great thing about Firefly...in that series, sound effects weren't given to anything when in the space setting. Sounds effects are neat when done (normally), but I found it kind of refreshing to make everything devoid of sound when in space.

Defense Fields: I'm sitting here watching the ramp-up to the Reliant's first strike...DVD-ROMs are great for this! Anyway, when the circle is going around the saucer, I've always taken it (and still do take it this way) that when the command of "Energize Defense Fields" goes out, that meant to...

    Difficulty of Standoff

I'll second that, especially when you get further into into the missions. I've never found that a mouse makes a good controller for a flightsim. You have a lot finer control with a joystick over your craft when you play.
  16. Tigerhawk

    Difficulty of Standoff

For my machine, it depends on how fast you kill your opponents, what their target objective is and how much you break them apart from each other in a fight. For some reason, if I'm charging one enemy craft constantly and not giving it a moment's respite other than the few seconds it'll take for...

    Battlestar Galactica Ends Next Season

Well, I'm apparantly in a minority here as well. Granted, I didn't think all of Season 3's episodes were grand, but what did do well was the character interaction and conflict. This is the OPPOSITE of the original BSG, where pretty much everyone got along every week. Space combat only goes...

Prophecy and Secret Ops NAV map

There's one Prophecy mission where it's not critical to the storyline, but it "helps your comrades" anyway. On a fighter sweep from the Midway...once you're about done with your Nav point, another flight group is calling for assistance because they're getting overrun. In the end, if you end up...

Star Trek, and lesser SF franchises (was "Movies to see")

I do have to say that Season 3 of BSG seemed rather lost in a lot of places and it did seem like the writers were suddenly searching for an answer to, "What can we do to fill up time this week?"...at least starting a few episodes after the escape from New Caprica. The first two seasons didn't...

Star Trek, and lesser SF franchises (was "Movies to see")

It was an even longer summer for me. I was in the middle of boot camp when the new season aired and part two came around. My best friend and I, who'd gone in on the "buddy system" together, were spooling off theories a couple of times a week about what might have happened. We couldn't see it...
