Of course the old Wing Commander games were produced to make money. Of course the WC4 engine was not changed that much from the WC3 engine to save money and render it more profitable. That is the exact thing that I fear: Wing Commander being reborn as a series of multiplayer arcade games with no story and then dying out once and for all. At least before this there was hope that EA would sell off the rights to the series to somebody else.
