    The engine apparently doesn't actually bring the faction rating to zero as you change between negative and positive. Insted you get really small decimals, such as your 5.8e-0059 (5.8 * 10^-59) Don't know about your other question.

    I believe that a few missions should be sufficient, but you should have no problem with starting the plot without tachyons.

    Cranky bits

    One time in the new Constantinople system, I accidently hit a confed ship with a torpedo. There were something like 4 carriers or so. I was kind of a bit outnumbered.

    If they worked the way player mining does, then wouldn't they depopulate the astroids quickly? Or would the astroids just respawn?

    philosophic problem with Jump Points

    If the ships come one at a time, shouldn't it be possible to control a jump point easily with even a relatively small fleet. With a reasonably equiped fleet you would always have numerical superiority whenever there was an attack. How was this problem dealt with.

    I'm getting a similar problem. Some jump points will ocasionally cause a crash. I made copies of the stdout and stderr if you want them.

    Is there a free program that you would recomend? At the moment I don't feel that I am serious enough about modelling to pay for one.
