Hi Tolwyn,
My machine is an old Acer Notebook:
> Intel cebtrino Pentium M processor 1300 MHz
> 768 MB Ram
> and an Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller
running WinXP Home
All drivers are up to date.
My settings are standard. I only switched from OpenGL to Direct3D8...
Hi,
For the first: I can run Freespace 2 without problems. But Saga breaks down every time I try to run a mission. When I checked system requirements, I noticed, that Saga seems to require a videocard which supports T&L. I don't know much about videocards so I can't be sure...
I use a...
Depends. AFAIK, you are allowed to make backups. But you are not allowed to crack the copyprotection for a CD. One could say that the copyprotction is not only a practical barrier, but also a legal one.
Sure you are right there. And I'm working on it. Sadly it still denies to come over night. ;)
BTW, Wing Commander being for free was never the matter, or did I miss something?
Have you even bothered to try to understand my post? This is how I understood it BEFOR the first post and how this mix up happened. My last post was just to show, that it was a mix up and that there is no reason for a fight.
Honestly this whole discussion is pointless.
The whole thing started with me not knowing that freeware can be also used for software that became free. In my personal thesaurus freeware was simply used for software being free from the beginning. This made it necessary to use the term abandonware...
I'd rather say that in most cases people "think" games to be free which are not. Yet there is real "abandonware" (somebody give me a better term if there is one) like GTA, for example.
Of course there is no legal thing "abandonware", yet there are differences in how companies deal with people copying different (kind of) games. And frankly, it's simply a lot easier to use the term "abandonware" because everbody knows what is meant.
I just found the site from back then but all the links are down. I guess it was never abandonware.
The five Euros are not the Problem. In fact, I think it's worth more than many newer games. But leaving the house just for a game. Dunno...
Maybe I'll wait and go tomorrow...
I kind of remember that Freespace 2 was once declared to be abandonware and that there was once a official web-page for the download...
But: I'm not sure and I can't find it.
So here's the question:
Is Freespace 2 (still) abandonware and were can I get it? (Fast answer would be nice...
Didn't know that... Maybe because I'm a member for only half a year... ;)
Thanks for the reply, because to me it seemed like all WC fans had kind of vanished...
 vacation
Long time since I heard that word... working as a freelancer sucks! You got a lot of freetime during the day (which must be considered to be wasted time) but you can't afford to take a few days off... :(
Is it just me or is the place kind of dying out?
When I joined, there were always lots of people online an now it's always just and hand full of users...
What's going wrong?
