Just posted a disk image for a boot disk using SBLive sound card, you can download it here
If that does not work, you might try altering you autoexec.bat setup to SET BLASTER=A220 I10 D3 H5 P330 T6. It appears that SBLive in DOS works on these settings
I have just added a couple of self extracting .exe disk images of my boot disks to the web site.
They contain the same as the .zip files do, but they will self-extract, format a disk in drive A and install to it. :)
Hi slam10. Yes I am running ME, but I play Privateer on boot disks, it is much easier than trying to coax the DOS out of ME.
I have made my disks available here.
Try them out and let me know if they work for you. :)
I have just put together a little webpage to make access to my boot disks so much easier.
My Privateer Boot Disks
You will find complete boot disks for Privateer 1 and Privateer 2: The Darkening, as well as support documents for useing them.
Have a look and try them out, I would like...
Were you trying to run in a DOS window or pure DOS?
If you made a boot disk, did you try using the Bootdisk.exe that is on the P2 disk 1 to help create it?
Because I am running ME, I had to use a combination of my P1 boot disk and the auto Bootdisk.exe to create a new boot disk. So now P2...
My boot disk should work with your system because it is a stand alond boot disk, booting straight into DOS and not looking at any files on you hard drive until it enters the game directory to start the game. As I have said in my post, the only thing you may have to do is find your sound card...
One other thing I have thought of, if you have already installed Privateer, then when you reboot as I suggested below you will get a message that looks like this:
Privateer CD not found.
JEMM unloaded.
C:\Privater
This is because you cdrom is now designated as drive F:
So at this point...
Okay, thanks Kris.
Just fixed a small problem I thought of (it was 4am when I uploaded the file) where I have installed Privateer to drive E:\. I have now set the autoexec.bat to the default install drive of C:\.
The file is on a hotmail community webpage and you will need to create a...
Here, after many weeks of searching the net and reading this board, is the complete boot disk I use to play Privateer 1.
Follow this link PrivBootZip to download the zipped file (349kb) and then unzip it to a formatted floppy disk. Reboot your computer with the floppy in drive a:\ and...
Rats! :(
Kris says digital joysticks don't work in DOS. Guess that means my SideWinder Pricision Pro is no good for Privateer then, oh well.
Gaston, sounds like the best option is to do what I am about to do, and thats to go down to my local computer store and buy a $10 analog joystick...
