    Miscellaneous WCP stuff

I would imagine LOAF is referring to the relative of a certain Ser Arris

    Afterburner Fuel

    Yup. E = 1/2 x 0.001 kg x (300,000,000/4)^2 = 2,812,500,000,000 J (i.e. 1/2 my original answer)

    Afterburner Fuel

Ahhh cr@p! Kinetic Energy is E=1/2mV^2, where E is the kinetic energy in Joules, m is the mass in kg, and V is the velocity in m/s. ... and I left the half out of my calculations. So divide my energy numbers by 2, or assume a 2 gram particle. It's still a slightly big number though :)

    Afterburner Fuel

I would imagine he meant energy of a million tonnes of TNT. Since the speed of light is approximately 300,000,000m/s, a particle of 1 gram travelling at 1/4 the speed of light has a kinetic energy of 5,625,000,000,000 Joules (i.e. 15,625,000kWh or enough energy to run a 100W lightbulb for 1782...

    Favourite WC3 FMV sequence

Yes, especially when the Snakeir of the same era (WC1) is 600m long. Still, I would imagine everyone believed Dreadnaught in question was refering to the WC3 Dreadnaught, which clocks in at a massive 22km. Still, as everyone says, it's not size that's important (although it seems to be...

Alright, I'm making this up as I go along, but here goes : Energy guns have the disadvantage that they all draw power from a common source, so rather then being limited by the refire rate of the gun, you're (also) limited by rate at which you can pump juice out of your power supply...

Well, a single Stormfire only packs 35% more damage then a single Tachyon (210cm/s c.f. 155cm/s). However, you don't have the energy requirements so you can afford to be relentless (until you run out of ammo anyway). Since the Stormfire has no energy requirements, I see no logical reason why...

if you had a kilrathi dreadnought and a few trillion credits?

What about the Kilrathi Dreadnaught? Or to a lesser extent the Versuvius?

Cap ships vs. Fighters in WC2

Okay, here's my tips for a successfull torp attack. First, get well outside gun range (12-15,000), stop and turn. Crawl slowly back towards the target (or be patient and let them come to you). As soon as the torp starts to lock (should be about 12,000 - well outside AMG range), stop and...

    Dream carrier

Increasing the firepower requires an increased power generator, and consequently greater mass, which would be accompanied by a decreased speed and manouvreability, neither of which are desireable for the Piranha. Remembering that the Piranha is a light scout, I would be tempted to rip OUT the...

Re: Well Duh That's Offence, not Defence. For defence you need an interceptor that can engage and destroy enemy bombers before they get within firing range (relying on shooting down enemy torps is a bad move). The Wasp, with its Swarmers & Tachyons is a good example of this. Enemy...

    WCIII: Strange flying!

Are we talking about the fact that when you try to turn left or right, you also bank at the same time? For me this only happened by default in the Longbow. If so, IIRC there is a button in the flight options called 'Alternate Flight', or something like that, which switches between standard...

One Little Question (Which is sure to make me look stupid)

ECM - Electronic Counter-Measures. Basically it just jams enemy missiles and makes if more likely for them to miss.

Do you like Vindicators No ... Ouch! Do you like Vindicators! No ... Ouch! Do you like Vindicators!!! Yes! ... Ouch! What did you hit me for? I said I liked Vindicators! I know, but it wasn't half fun! ... my apologies to the Goodies :)
