Common Issues
"Error 1910" or "Error 1911"
- We suggest that you completely delete and reinstall game.
- To ensure that you avoid this problem in the future, make a Boot Disk or Shortcut using the game's Boot Configuration.
"Error 1941"
- You must have at least 7 MB free on the hard drive after installation.
- Make a Boot Disk or Shortcut. See Boot Configuration for more information.
- Completely delete and reinstall the game.
"Error FE36-FFFF"
- This error message appears if you have finished the game and you chose "Continue Game". There are no more missions to fly.
"Error FE38-FFFF"
- The game is trying to load a carrier that was destroyed earlier. Reload an old savegame before your carrier was destroyed.
Game asks for "Disk A:", "Disk _", or "Disk 11" during the install.
- Disk #1 of your game set is "Write-Protected." Move the small plastic square on the back of your disk to the "down" position (thereby closing the hole on the left hand side of the disk). After Un-write-protecting Disk 1, put it in the drive and type "install 9". Then, install as normal.
Pausing during speech or gameplay.
- To fix this problem, edit the A:\CONFIG.SYS file on your boot disk and find the line that reads DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE Add "d=256" to this line. Save the file and exit. Reboot your system and tyr running the game again. See Boot Configuration for more information.
Flying tanks and carriers.
- You are flying in invulnerable mode and has landed under an island. This can also happen in vulnerable mode if you land on certain sections of water.
Not enough EMS memory.
- You might have a shadow RAM enabled leaving less than 3072K high memory available (if you have only 4 MB RAM). You will need to consult your hardware documentation for your computer for instructions on how to disable the Shadow RAM. After it is disabled, make an XMS Boot Disk or Shortcut. See Boot Configuration for more information.
I've done everything I can and I still can't get sound.
- Make sure you have turned sound on in the game. Get into flight and hit ALT-O and turn on the sound. The sound defaults to none in the game if you installed previously without sound or the incorrect sound set up. See our Sound Card Help Page for more information.
