Hi I have sound but no video OS win 7x64 tried k lite cccp vlc i feel like asking for a refund Code: File: C:\games\Wing Commander IV\vob\SC_0010A.vob Filter 0: Video Renderer Filename: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\quartz.dll Filter CRC: 846ED5FC Date: 2011-10-26 | 02:02:11 Filter 1: Default DirectSound Device Filename: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\quartz.dll Filter CRC: 846ED5FC Date: 2011-10-26 | 02:02:11
If I remember right, CCCP crashed my computer a couple of times. You need AC3Filter. I got the file name off of a forum on gog.com. There is probably a thread in the CIC forums too. I used win 98/me compatibility (with run as admin checked). I also had Zeckensack's glide wrapper installed. But installing that too might be a bit of Cargo Cult troubleshooting. I didn't ever get too far in WC4 gog. My joystick didn't really want to co-operate with me after it fell off the desk a few times... I'd uninstall those other things you installed and try AC3 filter: http://ac3filter.net/wiki/AC3Filter_2.4a EDIT: Old CIC thread http://www.wcnews.com/chatzone/threads/wciv-gog-com.26054/#post-375012
I guess after running both uninstalls for k lite and cccp, run ccleaner. Restart. And then install latest AC3. I'm just guessing. You've probably already done that though. Even after running ccleaner I'd still check to see if the processes and registries are gone for both.
Even with AC3 filter you will still need an mpeg2 decoder... which is where mpeg2dec comes in. Alternately Klite and CCCP have both audio and video decoders so you don't really need AC3 separately if you've used one of those codec packs. Ok, Silverhawk, lets start with a clean install. Wipe out any trace of the codec packs you've installed even if you've done this before and wipe out any WC4 install. Then reinstall the game from GOG and then install only the K-lite codec pack. MAKE SURE that you install it in advanced mode. During installation, under the "Select Components" dialog, search for "DirectShow Video Decoding Filters" -> "MPEG-2, DVD" and choose "ffdshow (libmpeg2)". Then if the problem persists, do not do anything else to your install. Please do another test render using insurgent and post the complete log text here.

Your PC still isn't calling ffmpeg according to the log text. You might want to try manually disabling the MS dvd decoder (using the Klite advanced settings again).
how exactly? and yeah your wright it seems no matter what i do it does not seem to recognize any codecs at all
Well, it is, but it is using the Microsoft mpeg2 stuff... whereas before you installed klite you didn't get anything at all. So lets try and get your system to use ffmpeg. Use the 'K-Lite Codec Tweak Tool' to disable the MS codec, and then use ffdshow Video Decoder Configuration app and enable "libmpeg2" under Codecs -> MPEG2. give that a shot if you can and then see if your insurgent test render comes up with anything different. Also post a DirectX diagnotistic report here too please.

I see some references to Cyberlink on your DxDiag, try uninstalling it to see if it helps. Some Cyberlink filters could be getting in the way. Also, please download these updated DLLs. When the game plays a movie it generates a wc4_graph log, please post it here, it should provide us some more information about what's going on. Also, just to rule it out: did you install WC4 GOG over an existing WC4 installation (either CD, DVD or Pete's CD-to-DVD conversion)? If so, you should wipe everything and do a clean install of GOG's WC4.
no previous versions of wc4 have been installed i was aware of cyber link conflicts so i uninstalled the power dvd suite those reference should be internal because my HP system uses re-imaging tools from cyber link for my recovery drive here is the log you wanted Code: Render file .\vob\\sc_0010e.vob File has media type 0xe436eb83... The log actually looks good, the rendering graph seems ok at first sight. I wonder if your problem is OpenGL related. If you skip the videos do you see the rest of the game correctly? Try downloading this and unzipping it into your WC4 folder. Basically, this will make the game use DirectDraw instead of OpenGL as a renderer. If your problem is OpenGL related, you should see an improvement.
AD actually recommended that in chat and i have tried all the render settings to no avail however to be clear game play it self is flawless it only seems to be the fmv and what is wc without fmv
That's useful information by itself, it tells us that your problem is indeed related to DirectShow only. I'll post a new DLL tomorrow with a few extra debug messages, to see if we can get any more information. In the meantime, I would suggest unregistering the Cyberlink filters that are still in your system (using k-lite codec tool or insurgent), to see if it helps.
ok i did you one better i use revo uninstaller to uninstall every non essential cyberlink related products and i will wait the new dll
Ok, here's a new version of the DLL with quite a few more debug messages. Unzip this into your WC4 folder and run the game, then please post the resulting debug.txt here. Hopefully it will give us some clues as to what's wrong.
