WCRPG Combat Demo

I've liked the tweaks so far. Waiting to get some spare time to roll one more scenario featuring transport escort. I'm leaning on either the basic one of Orsini 2 or the first skipper missile intercept featuring a Corvette. Torn which to do first. Have either of these scenarios or similar been played out by you already? Trying to test what hasn't been tested yet and you've been rather quick with generating them. I've got one last PC to fix before I get to play GM and then I'll see about scripting one or the other, but I'll be happy to take some advice.

Scripting WC1 in WCRPG might be rather fun and relatively simple affair given the mission structure. Also I do believe we have lots of online reference for Order-of-Force so it might be something fun to tackle after Vespus.
 
Are you talking about wanting to do Orsini 3? Orsini 2 you come across a Sha'kar; Orsini 3 you're escorting a Clarkson to a jump point and it involves an encounter with a Kamrani.

We probably need to do something with CSMs, mainly because we haven't done anything with them yet. I have a mind to tweak their damage so they blow with the same amount of damage as torpedoes. I'll set something up with thems.

As an FYI: proofreading on 9.2 commenced this morning; it's a little over one-third done at the moment. 9.3's - the vehicle-scale combat rules - are on the block next.
 
Coventry vs a Ralarrad, Ajax vs a Fralthi II? Those clashes featured a few, could have a few shot between them with a chance for fighters or turrets to shoot them down.

Yes, you were right about the missions from WC3. Don't know why I missed that since I just got through playing it again.

Orsini 4 dealing with a skipper missile might kill two birds with one stone, doing anti-stealth checks and targeting. One other possibility is a rule set for dealing with orbital bombardment. Stopping Kilrathi Bio-weapons in Locanda or stopping Lancers with GenSelect bombs. IE, eliminating them before they reach a certain atmospheric depth to ground impact for anti-matter bombs, similar to the ones fired on Earth by the invading Kilrathi force.
 
I got set up to do Orsini 4 last night; had OOGWC3 in front of me while I was doing it. I'll run the scenario when I get the opportunity. Only WCRPG tweak I'll need to make is to swap out the torpedoes on one Kamrani for a skipper (doable, since they're both considered Heavy Ordnance).

Sounds like I might want to run Locanda 2 also, so I can get a feel for a planetary bombardment. I'll just copy down some notes.........there. Might not have as much dialogue, but it's the shooting part we're interested in, right?
 
Ugh. Very much ugh.

Been realizing just how much work up-rating weapons damage is going to entail. For fighters, it's not that big of a deal though it's still a lot of work. Capital ships......

Would anybody be opposed to the notion of making the whole thing a GM-level decision?

Finished up the Index this morning; nothing to do now besides wait until I get home so I can work with Acrobat on getting everything compiled. I think I had problems over the weekend because word was just linking some fonts instead of fully embedding them; I think I've taken care of that at this point but I won't know until I get home.

I did figure that they would've rescued Flash had Blair lived to see the end of the mission - he's not supposed to be vulnerable in LOC2. Differences in the systems, of course.

The outcome is pretty much the way I remember WC3...finish the mission, get killed before you can get back to Victory......maybe that was WC4. In any case, I think the final tweak to CSM damage worked pretty well.

Looking back through the heavy ordnance rules this afternoon it looks like I didn't put a lock time down for capital ship scale heavy ordnance. Probably oughta do that; shouldn't be too big of a deal. Odd, though; I could've sworn I'd done that at some point.
 
Out of morbid curiosity, assuming one of the CSMs was not eliminated, how many survival turns would it had to have gone through to successfully strike the planet given the Destroyer's range to the planet?

For balance sake, I like how even the mighty Heart of the Tiger isn't invincible by any means. Yeah, if I had to pick a wingman to possibly burn out of the cockpit for that experiment, it would have been Flash. That was some "action" alright.
 
The way I was playing it, it was three hundred range increments; at a speed of six increments per round, it would've taken fifty rounds (five minutes) for them to strike the planet. Now, I had intended to add a cumulative range modifier to the missile with each round (so that each round it was ignored it would've been harder and eventually impossible to catch up with it), but it turned out that Blair was able to catch up and shoot down the missile each time before it cloaked.
 
Well, I went ahead and ran Orsini 4 for the hell of it. I'm thinking I probably would've been okay not to uprate the weapons on the transport...

The transport jumped out okay but only after Blair bit it. Maniac was fine until he ran up against the two corvettes on his way back to take Blair's job...

I did this one up as a full mission complete with dialogue. Got creative with a little bit of it...nice thing about not having to stick to a script.
