WCP Missions

Wedge009

Rogue Leader
For some silly reason, I decided to waste my time last night and dig through the WCP TRE files, and found this funky list of mission names. Now, comparing with a printout of a mission tree I made myself, I noticed several I hadn't seen (marked with a *). Anyone played these missions and can remember how to get to them?

Anyone think we can get these "lost" levels to run in WC:P again?

*G'Wriss 208.5: Shrike Escort
*G'Wriss 209.9: Enemy Starship Encounter

IIRC these are the losing path in G´Wriss system

If you do as Hawk says and kills the Kilrathi in the nav 1 of *Cult of Sivar Rescue* you will fly this mission.

*Hrissith 633.1: Vampire Escort Duty
*Hrissith 634.2: Devastator Assault Duty
*Hrissith 635.1: Vampire Mine Sweep
*Hrissith 636.2: Devastator Mine Sweep

IIRC these are the mission when you must choose to use the Vampire or the Devastator

*Kilrah 744.5: Cleanup
If you fail Kilrah 743.0: Dreadnought Support Assault
you must fly *Cleanup*

I remember this because i´m replaying WCP today, also you can check here in the game guides:

I've flown several losing attempts in G'Wriss (trying to find Hellespont and Alcor), but I'll try again when I get up to WCP again.

If that's the one where Wilford chews you out big time beforehand, I've played that one, I just didn't find the second navpoint where you can rescue the Kilrathi again, so I got the "dishonourable discharge" cutscene.

I figured as much - must be an internal filename thing.

I'll try that next time.

It took me a long time to realise that you still flew the H'hrass relay station missions before going to T'lan Meth or Hellespont, with your performance in G'wriss being the condition.

The guides don't appear to include absolutely everything, especially for WCP. I'm not complaining, I think they're targeted at casual WC players.

Hmm, I think the WCP part of Guides is pretty much complete, especially considering I went back and checked stuff with the official guide afterwards. Some of those mission names come from the official guide just because they aren't named in game or aren't specific like the "Vampire/Devastator Duty". Perhaps I should draw up mission trees when I get some free time.

You need to use [crtl]+n to get the nav map and select it manually.

All the missions you marked with an * are mentioned in the official WCP guide, though I haven't played them all. If you want to know how to fly a specific mission, ask and I'll try to find out with the guide.

And don't fly too close to the Midway after you get the message, or the auto-land sequence kicks in, and it's assumed you've refused to help the Kilrathi.

Best, Raptor

I know how to do it *now* (I asked a question about the Kilrathi forgiving speech by the CAG a while back) I just haven't the time to play WCP again lately. The first and only time I played that mission (I think seeing Wilford screaming has permanently scarred me) I copped the automatic landing thing always thought it was a dead-end route to kill the Kilrathi with Hawk thereafter.

I apologise, actually went through the WCP/SO section just now: interesting that it depends on which component of the Midway is damaged in the G'Wriss system which decides your path. Three-way, not just two-way, interesting...
