Lately, whenever I play WC4, a problem I haven't had before starts coming up in every mission. It especially happens after I switch discs midgame and it copies the musicx.tre file to the hard drive.
When I'm in a mission, and something explodes, the game suddenly runs really slowly and choppy, as if most of the memory is being taken to show the explosion.
I've never had this problem before, and sometimes it happens randomly, not just when music.tre is copied. Any ideas?
I use Win95, so I go to the Step by Step Confirmation whenever I play WC games. Thus, the only file affecting anything is config.sys because I don't load up autoexec.bat.
Here is config.sys
------------------
[MENU]
MenuItem=WIN95,Load Microsoft Windows 95
MenuItem=MSDOS,Start system in MS-DOS compatibility mode.
MenuDefault=MSDOS,0
[WIN95]
DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS
DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE 49152 RAM
[MSDOS]
DEVICEHIGH=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS
DEVICEHIGH=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE 49152 RAM
[COMMON]
DOS=High,UMB
FILES=40
BUFFERS=40
DEVICEHIGH=c:\windows\cwbinit.exe /A
DEVICEHIGH=C:\PROGRA~1\ACER\ACERCD.SYS /D:ACERCD00
