WC3 Joystick Problems

Hi, I just got WC3 running with dosbox but I'm having some problems with my USB joystick. I can callibrate it for the game with no problems and it works fine when I'm onboard the Victory however when I start a mission and get in a cockpit my joystick no longer works. Any suggestions??
 
When you get to the mission, hit alt-o to enter the options menu and check the box beside Joystick. Then make sure you hit "save settings" before you exit the menu.
