Wc3 and Windows ME

Hey Everyone ! I was jest wondering if there was a way to get WC3 to run under windows. Yesterday I Installed it, and while the spaceflight worked; the movies and sound did not. So Im jest wondering if anyone ran into these problems befor, and knew how to counter them - thanks

You'll need to be more specific with your problems. WC3 definitely works fine under Windows 9x.

Which version of Windows did you say you have? You may need to check the resources tab of your system devices to find out which ports your sound card is using. Which sound card is it, anyway? Did the install program work okay?

Or, you may be better off waiting for John to run through the problems with you in more detail. :)

Windows ME

Sound Blaster 128 (?) PCS
G-force 2 vidio card (while im shelling out specs)

Install Worked Fine

Jest the Sound, Music, and the cutscrean (non Comm) vidio

I hate trouble-shooting ME. ME dos not have native DOS like Win9x. DOS games usually don't run on ME. Here is a DOSFIX patch for ME.

Use this Patch at your risk.

Check your autoexec.bat and check to see if the dos driver for your sound card is there. It should be either apinit.com or sbinit.com. If it's present then check the Device Manager and make sure the SB16 Emulation is working correctly. If it's not present look on the sound card CD for it.

If you don't have the dos drivers you can use this:

Go here to get this guy's native DOS drivers for the Sound Blaster PCI128 and PCI64 sound cards:
http://www.spmicro.com/mp3sidekick/

Click on the PCI64.ZIP link (15 MB) to download:
http://www.spmicro.com/mp3sidekick/driver/pci64.zip

The DOS drivers are Ensoniq, but are compatible with the PCI64 and PCI128 sound cards! To learn how to install these native DOS drivers, go to: http://www.spmicro.com/mp3sidekick/ensoniq.html
