Well , just wondering .Maybe its a silly question.

Its about the WC2 Wraith and the WCArmada Wraith.
The one is 16 meters and the other 32!The seconds mass is much much greater etc.

Why is that ?

Other ships , such as Arrow ,Hellcat doesnt have such major differences between their versions............

Well, this is a question for which, as far as I know, there has not yet been any reasonable explanation in the WC universe for why that would be the case, especially when one considers the even more dramatic weight difference between the two.
Outside the WC universe, the reason for the huge difference is simply the contrast between fighter sizes in WC2 and afterwards - WC2 had unusually small (compared to WC1) fighters. Then Armada came along, and instead of going with WC2-style small fighters, it went for even bigger fighters than WC1 had. In fact, the biggest WC fighters ever are from Armada (but are all lighter than the Ferret, apparently :p). The fighter sizes were then reduced for WC3 (except for the Arrow and Dralthi, which grew slightly), and continued to gradually decrease ever since (except the Dragon, but that's understandable). By WCP, fighters have once again come down to the size of WC2 ships.

Er, did we even see the Wraith in WC2? I don't remember it, but it's been ages since I played the game.

Best, Raptor

LOAF , you mean that actually the WCA Wraith never existed ?
It was only in papers ?

Something else..... Isnt the Kilrathi Dreadnought to big in Wc3 ?
22,000 meters !! It didnt seem so big to me in the game !
I know the manual says 22,000.I just thought maybe its a mistake and its 2,200 meters:D

I dont know.....

Sorry if this have been discussed in the past

The Wraith in Academy was just a simulation of the ship they were working on designing -- the Wraith in Armada is the production variant.

The Kilrathi dreadnought is 22,000 meters -- it shows up in the novel "False Colors".

Damn.... its too big!:p

Damn.... I got to find these books. Most of the answers are there...

I'm going to second Raptor here, did we ever see teh Wraith in WC2, SO1&So2? I know it's listed in the CIC database under WC2, but #1) The picture of it seems to be taken from a 3D engine and #2 It has reaper cannons as an armament, which didn't show up in WC2. Just wondering if I missed something . . .

The pics of Wraith in the Database in WC2 are from WingCommander Academy......

Its in the Wc2 period , thats why I said Wc2 Wraith.Sorry my mistake :)

Proportions in WC games are only somewhat respected in Prophecy.

Wha? Did you mean to say that proportions aren't correct except in Prophecy, by any chance?

If you look at the Victory's suicide cutscene, it seems as though the dreadnoughts are indeed that big. I guess Origin decided that the Kilrathi secret weapon needs to be twice as big as the Confed secret weapon :).

But when you fight the Dreadnought , in the Bad end in the jump point with the infinite fighters and cap ships, its seems to be about 2,000meters long!.....

22,000 is VERY VERY big.... How many are there anyway ?

Well yes, I meant that Prophecy is the Wing Commander game where proportions seem more accurate. For instance, a fighter in WCP has a more proportional size compared to a carrier than in earlier WC games.

I am not complaining on the old games's makers, though. They always excelled in WC games graphics and did more than the best they could.

The proportions don't just *seem* more accurate. Apparantly everything in the Prophecy engine is properly scaled to each other. This wasn't possible in the other engines, but like-sized ships were scaled to each other, as I understand it.... so in WC3 capships were generally scaled to each other, as were fighters... the Behemoth and Kilrathi Dreadnaught were not really scaled to anything properly...
