WC Copyrights

You can't use someone else's *serial number* -- you have to use the one you purchased. The CDs are not specific to number, though -- any copy of the same version of MS Office 95 will install using your code.

If you're looking for stuff outside the US, try the various regional eBays (ebay.de, ebay.co.uk) or the regional yahoo auctions.

could sombody tell me when this issue is coming out? i don't subscribe but i would buy a copy off the shelves just for that.

I believe that after a while, copyrights do elapse unless its re-applied for. However, the time period of this stretches for years, 50 or more I think.

This would work much like patents. Patents only last a certain amount of years. I'd say that after a while, a copyright would too.

And with regards to companies going bust, I'm sure the copyrights are passed on to the creditors or shareholders.

If a company does not actively defend their copywrite, and it is then challenged, it can be lost -- which is why companies care about people not pirating old games.
