Alright well I know that the WC:CD timeline is far beyond for the days when confed, Landreich, and the Border worlds use these fighters.......but...I will be using the one shown here as a Privateer type ship in the Wing Commander Collateral Damage Project...anything from merchants to mercs to use....Should I change anything on this ship? See below for pics :) This one took me awhile and I tried to stay as true as I could to the original scimitar except for the textures of coarse. It would seem that confed usually would have military surplus sold off to private dealers, militia and the like....take the talon for example (do we not see enough of this fighter in Gemini or what? :) Anyhow enjoy

My only issue is the acceleration absorbers - they appear quite massive in this version.

Nice to see the old pig still flying.

It kind of looks like they've been converted into torpedo launchers

I like it a lot, but yeah, the acceleration absorbers are blocky. Was this a design decision?

Got rid of acceleration absorbers...Some type of torpedo launchers...Missile Launchers, but I can change the size to be smaller if you guys want...I mean anythings possible

Maybe a different texture for the launchers? Not sure someone would be using Scims as torpedo-carriers by default. Maybe rocket pods instead?

if I am correct, those are the proton torpedo launchers from privateer

not exactly a capship killer, but a great anti-fighter weapon.

Thats really neat! Im sure in the future there will still be gear heads wrenchin on old fighters, bringing them up to date or just plain restoring them. Just like how im wrenchin on my cudas. I like the missle rack Idea. I think im gonna add them to the roof of my car to help beat this traffic out here! Keep up the work its lookin great!

To Yeager: That's the same thing I was thinking at least along those lines :)

I definitely would enjoy seeing a squadron of these guys fighting alongside some of the more advanced fighters against the Nephilim threat in this mod.

Alright well worked on the Scimitar a little bit more, check out the changes, most notable the launcher pod texture I thought "why would it be one big fat hole?" , it's a pod shouldn't there be some type of salvos?, and also the engines and a few lil details here n there (Stripe colors)

I think what's throwing me off is how close the cockpit is to the nose. The nose was more narrow, as opposed to rounded, and the cockpit was set back a little closer to the 'wing bridge'.

Please keep in mind certain fighters, I don't want to replicate to a T. But that's a good point and I feel ya...In thins instance I made the nose less narrow because of the fact of the "box" cannons that I included on the nose If I deleted those, you would see it's less narrow (Look at screenshot below) Also see Original bitmaps here http://www.wcnews.com/ships/wc1scimitar.shtml....Also I totally have to get a website up for WC:CD it's long overdue, so if anyone wants to help me with that so people know what the WC:CD project is going to look like. I would gladly send over some files (html, pictures, screenshots, story/plot, characters,etc...) to anyone who knows what there doing in that aspect... I'm very new to webpage stuff designing it easy easy but where could I put it? Noone has space at all...how does one setup a server?
