SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
===================

* System Requirements:
-8x CD-ROM
-3D accelerator (Direct3D, Glide) required
-Pentium 200Mhz
-Windows 95/98/Me with DirectX 6.0, or NT 4.0
-32 MB RAM

* Recommended Specifications:

-AMD Athlon 500MHz processor
-64 MB RAM
-TNT2 or Geforce graphic card
-Joystick
-Fast internet connection for downloading the game

* IMPORTANT: Some of our ships look cartoonish (wc2) but still puts a heavy burdain on the system
as the models are heavy on textures and Polys (Concordia and other models imported from Wc games
that are over-triangulated). It is also reported that having less than 64MB limits the number
that the game accepts without crashing)

ABOUT Wing Commander Saga: Battlegroup Serpent
==============================================

* Battlegroup Serpent takes place during the WC3 timeline, you will take the place of the young
fighter pilot Katarina "Cat" Thorn. Stationed on an old Durango class carrier you are on a patrol
on the Confederation Kilrathi border. All seems to be in perfect order until a Kilrathi carrier
jumps into your system. With this incident everything starts to change. Strange orders are given,
an old Friend of your past comes back and a long journey with an unknown target begins.

The Story features ships from Wing Commander 1 to 3 and 2 ships that you habe never seen before.

* Display issues:

Wing Commander Saga: Battlegroup Serpent requires Microsoft(tm) DirectX. It is recommended
to run Wing Commander Saga: Battlegroup Serpent with the latest Microsoft(tm) DirectX Runtime

Wing Commander Saga: Battlegroup Serpent requires the existence of the DirectDraw overlay

support this feature.

It is suggested not to run Wing Commander Saga in 640x480 resolution.

* Limitations

-This alpha version supports only 1024*768 resolution
-Ship Icons, HUD and other interface elements are temporary

This is a preview version of our readme for Battlegroup Serpent, but I think it also counts for the Demo.

Hopefully this will be an good excuse to re-install FS2, the normal game failed to keep my attention past the part where the collosus made its entrance ("oh my god thats just rediculus").

looking at the readme. see-ing that the game is essentially the FS2 engine, why are higher resolutions not supported fully?

And on another note, you do not want to release a dodgy demo, that will certainly put people off from persuing interest in your project, Wait till you have an near finnished game (maybe all missions aren't finnished, (but all the elements of the game are in place and working properly)).

Then you'll give people a much more realistic view of what your game is like.

it is looking good so far.

good luck

Duzzat mean that the game'll be published by a Scandinavian publisher, or merely that there'll be Nordic subtitles (or perhaps, the game's ships being names after characters from Norse mythology?...)

Jus' wonderin'...
:D

Lars would say to this: "Your posts are confusing as ever".

Just wondering: what do you want to say?

Just wondering: what do you want to say?

Pretty simple, really: See, neither us Yanks (nor even the Brits) are in the habit of "finnishing" things, therefore I was wondering if that was some sort of Freudian slip, indicating a heavily Nordic slant to the product...

I'm aware of that. By using the term "Nordic", I was aiming more generally at that region of the globe, rather'n get specific to Finalnd...

hehe.. i should just "pull rank" with my FS2 community clout here shouldn't I :p
afterall, i did write the model converter that makes this mod possible :p

YES ! We want a demo! I especially want a demo

[have because I have a tool that converters FS2 POFs to OpenPrivateer opmodels :p, yes you'd get the credit]

There is only one thing: there are several models (just a few) that are not allowed to be used in another project. You'll have to ask Eder (Standoff Project) for permission...

Too bad I recently picked up the first freespace and theres gonna be no wc mods for it. Plus the fact that I can't buy freespace 2 cause its out of print:(

Well you can still buy it buy ebay. Plus it is possible, since the FS2 source code is out, that we build our own database files. That means that you'll not need original Freespace to play it :D
