Seventh Part of the Seal
Most everyone here knows how I feel about this wonderful fighter. Its fast, tough, and all around dependable.

It seems more advanced then the standard medium fighter in the BWS. My question is, what is the origin of this fighter and how did the BWS get thier hads on something advanced enough to carry tachyons?

Nobody knows -- there's no backstory on the Border Worlds fighters in Wing Commander IV. All we have are a few cryptic references to who created them (Murphy Labs, in this case, named after our own Sean Murphy...)

One bit of Arena promotion that never got posted gave the Border Worlds' fighters totally cool designations -- based after the US Navy ones used in World War II.

So, designations like F4F-4 and PB4Y-1?

Yes, like that.

hmmmm... that'd be cool. But weren't they doing something like that already with the designations? I mean like the Epee and the Rapier from WC2 had them.

No, the Epee and the Rapier have standard United States Air Force-style designations (F-44 and F-54, respectively.)
