Version 9 freezes on load

As I found this remake I almost dropped to my knees to proclaim my thanks. I'm exicited to try this verision out but it stops mid load and I end up having to reboot.

Version = Win32 0.9

I own win xp

wait...how does it stop?
are you sure it isn't just loading

do you wait 5 or 6 minutes
the first time it has to generate a bunch of stuff... in subsequent times it just loads that stuff (don't want to increase download size)

if it dies on load it'll actually quit to desktop unless your video card has bad drivers

what video card do you have
what's the last 5 lines on stderr.txt
 
that may have been it. This morning it loaded right up.

In my defense the tast manager said it was not responding too.

what were you doing hitting cntrl-alt-delete to check not responding when you hadn't given it enough time yet ;-)

doing that may have put your video drivers through a loop

but all not responding means is "not responding to user input" rather than "not making forward progress"

of course there's provably no way to check if a file is making forward progress...
but if it is loading *new* files each time, windows should probably figure out that it is making forward progress...
