Microsoft has launched their official Wing Commander Arena website. It contains a summary of the game and a collection of screenshots showing off a variety of different modes... including seven images we haven't seen before! Check out that cool red Arrow Guardian! The official site is available here. They have also opened an Xbox.com forum for Arena, available here.

Update: GamerScore has released high definition versions of all seven of these screenshots. We've replaced the previous versions.

It seems like a lot of the screens has shown tons of flying around bases and carriers. I've seen few shots of fights out in open space.

There's several reasons for that. Screenshots are more interesting when there's something in the background. And on top of that, space in general. In order to keep space from being a big boring emptiness, there's quite a bit of "terrain" in the maps to create strategic points and differentiate the areas. There's actually entire maps and modes which have almost never been seen in the screenshots yet. The Bearpit and Duel Crater made some of their first appearances yesterday. So overall you're right, you will see a lot of bases and carriers and asteroids and crystals and shipwrecks and such in Arena.
