Tail turrets seem to have aqured the ability to shoot THROUGH the ship they are attached to.

I dont mean, say, shooting through the tail end of one of the Centurian's engines. I mean shooting through the ship to hit things infront of you. The Galaxy's guns seem to be immune to this bug.
 
Such a thing would indeed be a bug. I've never noticed it myself.. Sometimes if a turret is firing straight to the side and you turn fast enough it looks like it was firing forward.

Another possibility: are you using some sort of patch?
 
I noticed that too. The bug only seems to happen after you upgrade your turret(s).
Save right after, quit and restart, and the turrets behave normally.
