.tre extractor? where? (P1)

Heya,
I'm looking for a .tre extractor for privateer 1.
I searched the forums and in some threads it's said there's one in the cic files section. However, i couldn't find one (maybe im just blind ).
I then googled for it, but also couldn't find one.
I mean there has to be a .tre extractor, otherwise you couldn't use the p1 shipviewer, as it needs .iff files.

Well .... can someone help me out here?

There's one; it's called GOBREAD and is a DOS program available from

Attaching it to this post to help create a durable record.

To run it with Privateer 1 .TRE files, start a DOSBOX session and type:

GOBREAD /PRIV PRIV.TRE

the /PRIV switch forces it to extract using PRIVATEER mode.

It works on Floppy/CDROM Gold edition versions of Privateer.

BIG WARNING

Really run it in a DOSBOX session. MS Defender in an earlier version, detected a virus in the zip file.
