TCS Victory

...contains two links I'd like to discuss here. The first is the arrow. Whoever put that up isn't funny, I really didn't appreciate it. Contrary to what it looks like it is in fact just a yellow arrow. Ha ha very funny. Does anyone have an Arrow model already converted for WC:S0 use? If not I'm prepared to import my own, just be easier if someone had already done it.

Secondly, the TCS Victory model there has serious issue with my SO copy. Maybe it's just me. I can't swap it with any ships, doesn't work right. I can't rename files, my missions won't load.

Tried it as a capship, Secret Ops closes everytime. Tried it as a regular ship and it appears and disappears and has no turrets. Anyone got any ideas? Tired the ship swapper/editor and creating a mission to specifically use it. Neither work. Need some advice, I'd sure like to see this work.

Considering how Mario HCl Brito is the guy who made mods such as UE and Standoff possible, and that he also developed the Hires patches and the movie player among MANY other things, I think he might make as many jokes as he sees fit.

I think maybe someone swapped it out for say an April fools joke, and maybe forget to put it back together...but that's really not the point. I was not amused by it, and wanted to communicate that, which I did, and I now consider the issue dead.

I thought that you, judging from a previous post of yours, were a strong advocate of people with different opinions.

In this case, the CIC just has a "different opinion" then yours about what to put for the converted Arrow in the SO shiplist . . .

Where the hell did that ugly-ass arrow picture next to my name come from?

And yes, I completely support his opinion, I didn't tell him not to post, now did I? I just clarified that I had said my bit and let it ride...and was merely making sure that it hadn't simply been overlooked, as I can understand how there wouldn't be many people wandering around the so ships area looking to see what they could do...

...I do mean to be negative but editing secret ops to do what you want it to do is a tad bit...time consuming to learn.

I guess I wasn't really able to wrap my mind around how hilarious a yellow Arrow could be until just now.

(Those files are older than dirt, if they don't work it's probably because no one really knew how to import ships in to Prophecy properly in 1997.)

Errr... FYI, if you want to mock me correctly, the Arrow isn't yellow, it's literally an ARROW IE: --> and it's yellow, with little thrusters on it.

Returning to your original question about the Victory - you can find another version of the Victory on KillerWave's page. Indeed, considering that this page is a vital resource for learning WCP editing, I'm rather surprised you haven't checked it already :p.

I meant to post about this already, I did indeed find it, download it, and import it and it works just fine, thanks for pointing that out. As well as a few other WC3 WC4 ships...now I just got figure out how to edit their textures...

You will need the texconv tool. There is a link to it in the ship conversion tutorial, with it you can convert the mats to bmp and edit it as you like...and them put it back as a mat.

Yeah, I DLed it and now I'm peeking at your textures, but for some reason they aren't all coming up as being accessible. Not sure why.

Incidently enough (As if you couldn't guess. Laugh.) I want to change the shipname on the model somehow, and the number, but I can't seem to make it work.

Texconv has trouble with some files, it cant convert this one...id like to know why...
Anyway, luckly i still have the textures...i believe this one is what you're looking for... ;)
