Site update / voiceovers

You will be able to choose your ship whenever it makes sense to let you do so. For example, in most strike missions, you will be able to choose between leading the wing of bombers (Sabres, Crossbows, or Gladii, depending on the mission) or leading the wing of escort fighters (usually Rapiers).

Another example: in some other strike missions, (where either there are no escort fighters or they are launched from some other carrier which is working together with your carrier in the operation) you might be allowed to choose between using Crossbows or Sabres for the bombing run - provided, of course, that you have enough ships of each type, since the game will keep track of your losses throughout the entire campaign (and since you'll start off without any Crossbows onboard, and you won't earn them in the losing path ;))

However, some other types of missions will not allow you to select your ship - scrambles are a good example :)

As for wingmen and loadout, there's no "built-in" selection method for these in the Vision engine... and personally I don't think it would make much of a difference. Therefore you'll always use the default loadout (of course, versatile ships like the Sabre do have a few different loadouts, but they will be picked by the game depending on the mission type), and you'll always have your best wingmen in the most important positions (either leading any other wings that are launched from your carrier or flying on your wing) with the lesser skilled wingmen filling the remaining spots.

The Hhriss is done, folks. Go check it out on the site and tell me wheter it looks at least better than the Gratha ;)

Then make Eder stop bringing out such beautiful ships!

*throws a mop to Quarto*

You might wanna start with the cleaning. Chop chop. ;)

Hmm, Yet another magnificent model.

No, it is official. I ran out of good things to say. (Must have used all good words!)

Even if 13 is a lucky number for me, having seen such beauty, well it would be a shame if you stopped. A small reprieve maybe, but DO go on!

Hm.....Hriss looks perfect.....not like the Talon and Gratha that I didnt like :p

Maybe it was the lighting ,I dont know....

I thought Eder said it was his new computer's fault...

In any case, I prefer the original Talon model, but I think the screenshots were from XWA.

Well, my "new" (as in new, but temporary) video card does suck... but I think it sucks equally for all the ships I make :p People's problem with the Gratha might be simply the blue lighting on the screenshot, or the low resolution of some of the textures (since the Gratha has a lot of parts which I textured separately, each part tends to get a smaller space in the final 256x256 map).

Anyway, what my video card does is show transparent places where they shouldn't be... and it's really annoying, since everytime this happens I have to check to see if I actually made those parts of the texture transparent by accident, or if it's just my video card screwing things up.

Eh, don't worry about it. That giant passenger liner at the start of one of the SO episode cutscenes shows all sorts of weird transparencies along the top on my dodgy computer.

I'm afraid I have to worry about it... We want Standoff to look better than SO, don't we? :)

Well, then I gotta keep worrying to make sure it stays that way! :D (It's not like I have anything better to do, anyway :p)
