Hi all. Exams are over. Yipee! :)

I was just skimming through the news for CIC's first month and I found something I never knew:

Wonder why Secret Ops seems so hard? Apparently its difficulty level is determined by some of your answers to the registration survey! If you told it you'd played every Wing Commander, you may well have ended up starting off with a default of nightmare difficulty. Now we know what the survey was for...
I simply assumed Hero was default as it was the next step up from Ace. Just wanted to know what others had for their default difficulty.

IIRC and not changed the dificulty setting...is ACE,in the survey i checked all the WC games.

Eh, it's definitely Hero in mine. We all had to fill a survey as part of the registration process. I'm sure the bit about what WC games you've played/completed was one of the compulsory ones.

I dont doubt that there was a survey, its just been so long i dont even remember doing it, or what the default difficulty setting was.

Sorry you're not allowed to ask that, Secret Ops is no longer available for download.
If you want it you'll have to buy Prophecy Gold from ebay or import it from here in the UK (see the where to buy section on the CIC)

Sure he's allowed to ask where he can get the rest of SO. It's a perfectly legitimate question...

To explain in more detail, the free Secret Ops download as a limited time offer. It is no longer legal to download anything but the first episode (which acts as a demo to Prophecy Gold). The only legitimate way to get a copy of Secret Ops is through the purchase of Wing Commander: Prophecy Gold.

Or you could just order it from EA Direct...

According to the Prophecy Guide, Ace is the level where the alien ships performances actually match the stats in the code and the values given in the guide. Nightmare is 20% higher than the stated values, and Rookie is 20% lower.
