Iceblade has announced that he'll be focusing on his Flight Commander spin-off this summer. Ranger's Glory will use the modular FC engine to revisit the Border Worlds in the Prophecy timeframe. Confed will play a secondary role and the Kilrathi will be present. You can find updates on the story, progress and technical details of the mod at the project's website here.

I swear the graphics, IE, the model quality and textures looked better in the original Wc4

will you need any help on anything? i can't do much but im willing to learn and help with whatever i can

Yes, definitely. To get started, download flight commander from

http://flightcommander.solsector.net/

And try the mission editor to get a feel for it.

Is there a particular area you'd like to help with? Mission editing, story, 2d artwork?
3d artwork?

We should actually move this discussion to the Flight Commander forum.

Yeah, the insides of the capships look like they were retextured at some point. But the fighters should be identical, and the 3d models should be identical also.

i'll go through flight commander sometime next week (i already have it downloaded) and i'll fiddle around with the mission editor. if i end up being good with that i'll do mission editing when i can. does flight commander support voice overs? maybe we could get people to lend their voices if it does? i don't think i'd be very good with story though i could contribute ideas (and proofread the fiction if necessary) and im not a good artist so i wouldn't be very good in 2d or 3d. but i'll see if i can figure out the mission editor and i'll work in whatever area you think i'll fit in best

hmmm... mission editor looks fairly simple and easy to use. once you get the story going i could draw up maps and see how ya'll like them and fiddle with the mission editor some more

Yes, voice overs and comm videos are already in. Let me know if you need any help with the mission editor, I tried to make it as easy to use as possible, but I can make changes to make it a nicer experience.

All of the textures are converted-they just suck in the better graphics engine. Turbo Tim, mission editing is not really a priority until some scripts are added. We really need at the moment a 2d artist (textures need redoing), another programmer (java or visual C++), voiceover writer, news writer, website writer (even somebody is really good at using Microsoft word's web stuff), and that is all I can think of at the moment.

I'll update my site soon.

Everybody needs to cut out the double posting and start editing their posts if they have additional information.

Say, Chris. Didn't I send you an application asking for hosting?

I don't deal with hosting applications, but I'd say your project would need to be further along before it got its own solsector site. Also, the original post was done automatically because I wrote the front page update. People should be emailing me if they need something, as I don't read every post to Crius.net. Saying my name in a random thread that I've not taken part in is a bad way to get ahold of me.

I just thought I would pose a quick question to be answered at your leisure, I didn't know the news discussion boards were automated.

Also, I'll just use underscore next time.

I have no idea what that could mean.

Whenever someone clicks "Discuss" on the front page, a Crius thread is automatically created. Even if I copied and pasted news from the front to crius every day, I wouldn't assume that I continued to follow every discussion after that.

Sorry, didn't occur-didn't think about it really.

I have no idea what that could mean.

What I mean, though, is putting this
