Prophecy mission Ratings

I can't seem to boost my mission rating on the SWACS mission, where we rescue and escort the SWACS back to the Midway. I can never get higher than 66%, and I am doing some serious butt-kicking. Anyone have any hints or suggestions? This really hurts my overall score, and any help would really be appreciated. THANKS!! Oh, and has anyone else played Privateer 2? I loved the old privateer, but got bored with it not having something to work towards. Any thoughts there would be helpful as well. - Spanky

He he, there is no ORIGINAL WC universe, there's only one WCU, and P2 is a part of it. P2 is simply set about 100 years after SO.

Spanky88, what exactly do you want to know about P2? If you got bored with Priv because there's nothing to do in it after the plot is over, P2 has some missions with their own individual, short, story lines that are not conected to the main plot. So when you're done with the plot there's still some things to do.

I'm afraid Spanky's right: You can't get more then 66% on that mission

. I once heard it happenes because there's a bug ship that always run away as soon as you enter it's nav and that the only way to kill it is to use a cheat, though I never tried that myself

Hey guys- thanks for the input- I think that maybe the bug who runs might be the key- which one is he?? I also didn't find P1 boring, I just got bored with no overall goal to pursue, other than profit. There's no one to guide you through what you need to do, it's just accept missions and upgrade your ship, etc, etc, etc. I'll be sure to let you know how things turn out.

If you cheat, you dont get points for the kill...so that doesnt do any good.

And if you're doing about as well as most people say there, then one mission wouldn't really hurt your end percentage.

Well, I don't know, I never used any cheats while playing WC. Just I heard once that the reason for that is that there's a bug ship which runs away as soon as you enter it's nav and that there's a way to take it down using a cheat.
And DH is right, that mission really doesn't matter. I've finished the game with 93% after having bout 2 missions with bout 70% (and that mission). Gives me a reason to try and play these missions again to perfect my score.
And you can never reach to 100% because of that mission you fly with Hawk (the one with the Kats).

Uhm, Spanky, Priv1 has a storyline. Just visit the bars and talk to the people sometimes sitting at the front tables, and you'll have a beatiful plotline unfolding

Hm, no offense to a great game, but that isn't exactly a storyline. After the main plot is over all you can do is talk to bartenders and people from the guilds. Those people look the same on most bases, and they say the same things all the time.

I have to agree w/ Earthworm- I have talked to the folks in the bars and haven't developed anything further than that. I have been getting back into the game, but it still doesn't hold me for very long. I think it'd be more fun with a "larger picture", if they talked about the steltek every so often, as something to shoot for, where to look for it, etc, etc, etc.

Uh... yes, but first you have to finish the main plot, Earthworm. Anybody who expects a storyline after the main plot is finished needs to have his/her head examined. The main plot IS the storyline.

Um, yeah, but we're talking about what to do after the plot is finished. And the plot in Priv is neither long, or especialy interesting, at least for me. All you do is fly missions for people (and those missions aren't much different than the missionsin the guilds and the mission computer), and find out a little about the steltek artifact. Than you encounter the Steltek drone and you have to destroy it.
