Prophecy game ends right after launch??? help

I don't know if it's part of the game but in Wing Commander - Prophecy, about the 18th mission after attacking 3 ship destoryers, when the next mission starts and the ship launches, a message pops up stating my capital ship mas been destoryed.

Why does it do this. Thanks.
 
The Midway must have been heavily damaged during the last mission, and now it's imedietly killed. You just have to play the simulator mission 6 or 7 for a little while, you don't have to win them, or even finish them, just fly for a while.

Too much work. It's well known that pilots in the WCU are the laziest people in the universe.
 
Yeah, some of them even pause in the middle of a dogfight to take a nap

Try playing mission #5 I think in the sim. For some reason that fixes a bug that you're having trouble with.
 
the same thing happened to me once! i was playing and the midway got under attack so me and my wingmen went out to kill the guys who were attacking the midway. we were flying arund shooting bugz and suddenly it said that it had been destroeyd! it took me like ten million times to play this mission and win it! geez!

Maybe that. Now I want to say 8...

It's the Kilrathi fighter gauntlet, whatever number that is.

Except, during the Plasma gun defense the sim missions 8 and 9 aren't available yet IIRC. And even if they are, 6 and 7 are the right missions.

Yes, there are ten. Except that the numbering of the missions is from 0 to 9. So there is no mission with the number 10.

And yes, the last two missions are the ones with bugs.

THANKS FOR ALL THE REPLYS, THE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED BY GOING INTO THE SIMMULATOR AND PLAYING #7.
