Last week, we posted some amazing Privateer 3 artwork from developer Ruben Garza's online portfolio. Mr. Garza's resume revealed one moer interesting fact: a piece of his Privateer 3 work appeared in "Spectrum 6", part of an art book series which collects a variety of sci-fi and fantasy artwork. We ordered a copy from Amazon and discovered the image scanned below--it belongs in a museum! Spectrum 6 was published in 1999 and is currently out of print, but as luck would have it there will be a softcover reprint released in September! It's a neat chance to own a part of Privateer 3. -- Original update published on June 9, 2010
I guess it's the same general group of people--although the specific team that worked on Privateer 3 were the 'No Prisoners' team members who *didn't* leave for Digital Anvil and StarLancer.
Paulie Hughes told me at one point that they (the original p2 team that left for DA) had an engine for their P3 and that it was that engine that evolved into Starlancer.
Sorry to dig up an old thread, but if you've got a Borders near you and want a copy of this book, you might want to check them out before they close. I found a copy up there in the science-fiction section at 40% off cover price.
