Privateer 2: HELP!!!

Hi,
I am new on this forum.
I have just buyed my Privateer 2 CD Version, but when I play the game, it says "fatal error". Sometimes instead, the game says "please insert cd 1". I have tried to install the DOS WINDOWS Patch, but this time the game says "could write merory" followed by numbers. How can I resolve this problem?

What OS are you on? What's your PC specs?
