according to the timeline, the tri-system is another race of humans or something? so confed 'assimilated' them (they signed a treaty or something to join confed) right?
 
Here's something from a January 14th 1997 chat.

LOAF: Hi! thanks! The people and ship databases in p2 mention that the trisystem is part of a 'Confederation' and that it's at least the year 2789. Does P2 really take place 100 years after WC4 in the good old Terran confederation?

I think LOAF said CIS stands for Central Intelligence Service, akin to a police force, or something like that.
 
I cant remember a thing being said about Confed in P2 or anything else to do with the WC universe from the previous games. Damn... it would of been cool to shoot at some Kilrathi.
 
Its actually Confederation Intelligence Services I believe.

However, its not the Terran Confederation, its another one.
 
No, it's Central, not Confed...

The Confederation from WC is mentioned a few times in Priv2, though.
 
And if you notice, none of the military craft resemble their civilian counterparts, either. (Well, the Duress kinda does...)
