Photo Editor can do the job easily.

I still think there should be more than a single button push to launch the weapon. Like some security passcodes and what-not. Else any curious pilot could fire it. :)

It was harldy a system built into the ship when it was first built. Its a giant jury rigged gun strapped to the ship. They didnt have the time to build in failsafes and redundant passcodes to fire it.
 
I think it's funny that everyone assumes there weren't security measures taken.

If that were the case, Midway would be pretty hollow.
 
heh heh... exactly. How do we know whether or not said passcodes were entered prior to the fatal button pressing? Well, we don't... but it doesn't mean they didn't do it.
 
yeah, the passcodes could be DNA based. The computer could of checked Rachel's gentic code to see if she was allowed to fire the gun before it went off, as much as we know.
 
The security code or what not also could've already been put in off camera. Or something.
 
You have to fail a crucial mission in the game and instead of using "replay" as an option, choose "continue". I don't know which mission(s) you have to fail to get this cutscene but obviously it is has to be after the Midway gets the Plasma cannon installed and I am pretty sure it is after its test firing too.

JUST BECAUSE YOU DONT SEE IT, DOES NOT MEAN THAT IT DOESNT EXIST!!!!! Sometimes you just have to use your imagination!
 
OH MY GOD! Are you saying that Confed might have another type of corvette besides the Venture? :rolleyes:

Frosty and Zor are right, people... Just because you're the main character of the game, it doesn't mean you have to see and experience every single thing the universe has to offer. ;)

Crikey, what have I started? :(

I only thought it was funny to think of the scene in that way - of course I understand that Prophecy was so strapped for cash that they could only build a few sets, so building another set just for firing the plasma cannon or a proper communications station/bridge wasn't feasible.
 
I think that if there is a another Wing Commander game, then it should have a new Confederation Corvette. We haven't seen many recently.
 
I personally don't like corvettes. They don't have the firepower or defences of a true capship, nor the manoeuvrability or speed of even a bomber. The only good thing about them is that they're cheap. Apparently so, anyway.
 
I hate to burst the one-corvette bubble, but the Granicus and Falcon class ships are both Confed corvette types... as, I would guess, is the Byrd class Recon Ship...
