Music Listening Thread

I know a lot of us here are more or less gifted, I know some are musicians like myself. I thought I'd share my work with the rest of the people here so You guys can hear what I sound like :)

Well the guys in Seventh Wonder and I managed to get together a four track CD lately, which I'd absolutely love You guys to pass judgement on. If You want to listen to the tracks, they're at :

It'd be nice to hear what You think :)

Our biggest influences are Dream Theater and Symphony X so this is progressive metal, be sure. Our website is at http://www.seventhwonder.nu

Sure, why not. Listen to some of my stuff from early '03. Mostly instrumental, because my lyrics usually suck really bad.

Enjoy. (or don't)

EDIT: Listening to "Temple in the Storm" now. Sounds pretty good, Gryph.

I've been playing drums semi-professionally for about four years now. I've been playing badly for much longer than that. :) My normally dormant ego comes to bear six times over when I'm talking about my drumming, so I'll make this short. I'll have MP3s online soon. :)

Hey thanks overmortal! Listening to Time Alone right now :) Nice track and I'm glad about the laidback version as well ;) That kind of respawn of a song can really work well sometimes!

The accoustic version was the direct result of my then GF pestering me for one. Glad you like it, though.

*lol* Thanks dude :) Now let's hope the A&R man at Nuclear Blast Records reacts the same way You just did!

*crossing fingers in a futile gesture* :D

My connection is super slow, but I want to listen to your band's work, gryphon. I will once I get back to school and my faster connection. Anyway, Nuclear Blast, eh? They've got some good bands: In Flames, Dimmu Borgir, etc. Can't say I'm a huge prog metal fan, but anything metal is ok in my book.

Here's a midi file that I authored today . . except the first two sections of it got cut in half because the program, for some reason, would export the entire song, but only part of it.

It's late 90's hardcore (not "nu metal"). And it's Midi. Don't whine if it sounds like suck. It's not meant to be musically complex. It's just raw and hard. Kinda like old Zao stuff :)

ell guys, we're sending it off to a lot of companies, not just Nuclear, although small fish like us are hardly interesting to a major label like that. We've got some 30 promo packs on their way or already out to a lot of record houses all over europe and are getting ready to send about 50 more to Japan and the US. We'll see what happens!

You can send ont to me? I can promo you in Local El Salvador and Central America Radios, you know, that work cause PPl in here lesind a lot of rock and it might be a small help but i works

Dude, it's nice to see a Dream Theater fan around here. They've been my favorite for a while now. They own all mainstream crap

Oh hell yes man - I'm very heavily into whatever isn't mainstream crap *lol*

Nah but I appreciate musicianship. I listen a lot to bands like DT, Symphony X, Jens Johansson's solo work, even jazz stuff like ALlan Holdsworth and Steps Ahead. Much to be preferred over a lot of what blasts into Your ear through advertising...

Sweet. I love all types. For Jazz, the Dave Brubeck stuff is the best especially with Joe Morello. Prog is of course DT, then Rush. Chick Corea is great stuff too.

My current band is in preparation to re-record our cd (our first cd met an unfortunate fate before it even left the studio, and the DAT tape was destroyed . . and then the guy got evicted from his place . . kinda rough)

I've already promised a free copy of it to LOAF (btw, have you sent those discs yet?)
