Kilrathi Saga questions...

So--what's the going rate for Kilrathi Saga (PC) these days?... Last I heard, it was in 3 figures (on the net, anyway). That's too rich 4 my blood (guess I'll hafta hope I can luck out at a garage sale somewhere), but I'd like to hear if anyone knows differently.
Also, duz anyone know why Origin/EA would be willing to let PC Gamer give away the WC1 portion of KS on their CD (about a year ago), and yet they refuse to release the REST of it (to anyone)?... If they're not gonna sell it or make any more copies of the thing, why not similarly release the other 2 parts (future issues of PCG, for example)?...

They vary from $100 to $200 now.

Where did you hear they refused to release the rest of it? I doubt they would refuse to sell it. They are in the business of making and selling games you know.

Those magazines decide what they want on their discs, I'm sure EA/ORIGIN would be willing to license the other titles.

PC Gamer had to negotiate hard with EA, and pay, to have WC1 on that CD.

No, and here are a few reasons why ;

1) A petition won't work.
2) Most petitions annoy everyone.
3) You don't need KS.
4) KS WC1 can be found on a PC Gamer CD.
5) PC Gamer will probably put KS WC2 on another CD someday.
6) A petition definitely won't work.

Yes but you do NEED the KS :)
Ok so by copying the correct files from someone who does have the KS will get you WC3 W95
SOME people got WC1 on PC gamer (errrr.... UK over here!)
We don't know we'll get WC2

But then again I think we NEED everything even remotley WC related :D

Overlooking the fact that the original WCIII (the so-called DOS version) works perfectly fine in Win9x anyway.

One of the reasons people refrain from starting petitions is that they think it won't make a difference... (I think it was LOAF who said that)... :)

Though on this one, I'd have to agree with Kris...
It's highly unlikely for EA/OSI to release KS again... :(

No, in not totally true, you got a mayor problem with todays joystick, the game do not reconice windows based joystiks. only old DOS driver jostick.

WC3 DOS runs just fine in a DOS box, and then your modern-day joystick works too. WC1 and WC2 DOS can easily be made to run as well. You don't need KS.

well yes.. that supost to work if you have dos drives, but what if you joystik don't have DOS drivers, like the InterAct Hammerhead 3dFX, and analog/digital joystick http://www.interact-acc.com, I have try the alternative joystick .DLL and don't work ether, well I need help on that.

Fair enough that the DOS versions work - but aren't they just as hard to get these days as the original versions?

There's always an original WC1 and WC2 on ebay going for like $10.

15th Rampage : You don't need DOS drivers for your joystick when running in a DOS box. I can use all of my Sidewinder's 16 buttons in WC3 DOS just fine.

Yes, is totally true. If you run the game from within Win9x (not with a DOS reboot, or any of that unnecessary mess), the digital joysticks work fine.

No. Go to ebay. I got a WC3 in box with all materials for 15 dollars. WC2 Deluxe is also on there all the time. I'm sure you could probably find a WC1 for a reasonable amount too.

I see, then i think I have to buy a new joystck , I think mine suck :( Ohh well

I say we all send an email that says... in these exact words... "Electronic Arts will never recieve my money until the Wing Commander franchise is revived."
If enough people do that... and then avoid buying any EA titles... ;)

Didn't EA make some loss of $US46Million or something last quater? Seems like a few might have taken that approach to them already anyway.
