Help needed in Hrissith mission of WCP

I'm new to WCP, and I'm stuck in mission Hrissith 5: Plasma gun defense.

Immediately after I launch, a message appears saying: "Your carrier was lost", and then I click continue and a video appears showing a Confed Starbase on Jupiter's orbit I think being destroyed by an alien plasma cannon. This always happens, and I don't know what to do. Help please!
 
This was in an FAQ a long time ago, and is a bug noted in WCP. To fix the issue, play through the simulator missions 7 and 8 before you get to this mission. And yes, you should've played them sooner. ;)
 
Problems...

Thank you very much. The reason that I didn't play those simulator missions is because I couldn't pass the mission 0, and I got really frustrated and decided not to play in the simulator anymore.

The bad news is that I was going to try what you said, but OMG, when I looked into my Prohpecy folder to execute the program, everything was gone!!!!!! Including all files, saved games, etc. Only a screenshot that I took was left :mad: :confused:

And when I inserted disc 1 it prompted me to install the game!!!!!!!

Now I'll have to start all over again :(

Mission 0? As in the first simulator mission? What happened? That's supposed to be the most basic of basic tutorials to get you acquainted with the game. Didn't you listen to the simulator instructor? ;)

And you sure you or someone else didn't uninstall the game? Having only screenshots left in the folder happens when you uninstall and allow the uninstaller to delete the save game files.
 
Well, I think that I didn't pass the mission 0 because because I didn't understand what the instructor was saying, and besides, my English is not very good.


I think I know what might have happened with the files: one time WCP crashed and the screen went black when I quit (or tried to quit) the game, and I began to click and press keys for fun and since the launcher remained open, I might have uninstalled the game accidentally, but its very weird, because as I said, the screen was completely black, and how could I have uninstalled the game and told it to erase the saved games under those conditions?????

And I've also had problems with the video, but I think I'll post a new thread concerning that issue.

And thank you for your advice,:) and patience helping this newbie in his first WCP experiences.

So what is your native language, then? Your posts are reasonably well constructed.

I am shocking at trying to learn other languages. Which is an incredible disappointment, given my multilingual family background.
 
You were somewhat close, it's Spanish. And I when I said that my English is not very good I meant "spoken" English, not written, and believe or not, I can't understand somebody speaking in Engish at a normal speed.
 
Fair enough. But try using 'Ctrl-M'. I think that brings up the message log, you can try reading the instructions from there.

Did you turn the subtitles "on" on WCP? That makes the game a lot more understandable.
