German Magazine Celebrates WC3's, Roberts' Achievements (February 5, 2005)

Mr. Kat
Tolwyn sent us this article from the January edition of german magazine PC Games. There are two columns of interest to WC fans. The first notes that Wing Commander III was the first game reviewed by the magazine to receive a score of 96%, a score only recently matched by Half Life 2. The second column details what Chris Roberts has been up to since leaving Origin. The WC movie of course gets covered, and the magazine comments that Freddie Prinze Jr. may be responsible for the movie not being as successful as it should have been. Of course since the magazine is German, the article is also in German which makes reading it somewhat difficult. Unless you know German.

I don't suppose there is going to be translation anytime soon is there? I'd do it myself but I don't speak German.
Or more specifically, can anyone tell me what the comment was made about Fredie Prinze Jnr?

The statement simply runs like that: "Maybe it was Freddie Prinze's fault as leadng character, or maybe because the movie was of thoroughly mixed quality: Wing Commander became a giant flop and earned Digital Anvil heavy finacial losses."

Now if you talk my boss into giving me only really boring assignments for next week, I'll translate the rest...

Nothing more, than the referring sentence in the news, really. The columns are very little, therefore not much information to accommodate. And I'm better to translate English into German and not in the opposite way. :o ;)

But good to see, that I'm not the only one who thinks that PrinceJr was out of place in the movie besides two other "actors" (Lillard and his disgusting movie-girlfriend).

I found the movie Maniac pretty good actually. I heavily disliked Blair and Angel however.

Actually as far as Chris' current occupations go, the article says that he's started up 2 firms: Point of No Return Entertainment (which we already know) and Ascendant Pictures (which I didn't know about). These companies are essentially for him to work on games development and TV/film production. Also, it seems that he's been busy producing a fair number of movies (they don't say which or how many) and has new plans about directing a war movie. Interesting...
