This is my first WC Fan Fic, that takes place on the Maginot System of the Trk'Pahn Sector, at a defense base, some time after Wing Commander II.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Battle of Maginot - First Act - And there go the six hundred...

--Draga system, Temporary T'rk H'hra quadrant Headquarters, 2667.077, 0900 hours--

A lone Sabre takes off of the last remaining Waterloo-class cruiser of the formerly great Confederation task force that attacked the system.

Pilot: Jak-ta Ga!

Kilrathi Commander:Krajksh nai varkish h'hassrai , human?

Pilot: They hadn't noticed it was me until it was too late.

The old Kalralahr allowed himself a smile. At last, that specific Mandarin proved himself useful, allowing them to destroy a entire Confederation Task Force, except by 9 ships that managed to make their way to the jump point under heavy attacks. Now their way to the Maginot System was clear. After the capture of the System, Nak'tara was going to be a easy prey for the Kilrathi.

Kilrathi Commander(on Comm): All ships, prepare to jump to the Maginot System. I will get there on my Sivarnaught. While this, my Hyilghar will command the Fleet.

Kilrathi Officer: Yes, my lord.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--TCS Katana, at Maginot System, over Maginot II, 2667.078, 1600 hours--

The old Vice Admiral Klaus Trevisan, a veteran from the beginning of the Kilrathi War, was sitting at his chair at the Strategic Situation Room. The Admiral was relatively yound to his rank. Fighting since his 20's, now he was 54. He has been offered the command of the Task Force Katana when he was a 48-years old Commodore commanding the Bengal-class TCS Wakizashi. Since then, he hadn't a day to rest. The souls of the dead pilots and crewmembers stalked him. He remembered very well of the action they fought past day at Draga. He couldn't excuse himself about the young pilots with a long life to live that were sacrificed on that day, as he couldn't about each Marine or Crewmember he was forced to let to die on that 6 years of combat. He was stalked by every soul that died because of his decisions. Many times he thinked about just giving up, or even suicide, but he hadn't. He had to continue. Not by the ones that died, not by revenge, not even by those that still are alive or even the damn Confederation! It was about letting the millions of souls that died because of his decisions to rest in peace. If he was going to die, it would be on battlefield.

Trevisan: We just got our asses kicked by these cats, and the situation is getting worse. It looks like they are coming against us now. There are some Mandarin there. One was responsible by our defeat, together with the Kilrathi fleet on the Draga system.

The young System Marine Commander, Colonel Daniel Thren, didn't cared about fleets. His boys couldn't do anything against them, except boarding the enemy capships. But Governor Vinnie Warlock was interested.

Warlock: How many ships you saw?

Trevisan: The Task Force faced at least two StarBases and 40 Fralthras. We were outgunned and outnumbered. Our boys killed 12, but they still outgun the battered nine ships we have now. Without long-range communications, we have no chance of asking for reinforcements in time. Colonel Thren, we also saw many transports full of troops. Probabily their target will be our land Headquarters,. I think your boys will have problems there.

Thren: Give us a gun, and there is no problem.

Warlock: Nice to hear it, Colonel. Admiral, there is any chance of the Katana escorting the evacuation transports?

Trevisan: I have a plan, but it will need many effort of the Task Force, as they will have to face 28 Fralthi without their most powerful ship. I will let 4 squadrons here, so it may compensate our leave. After leaving them at Uruk System, i will ask for reinforcements. Luckily, we will arrive at time.

Warlock: OK.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--TCS Katana: Bridge, on orbit above Maginot II, 1630--

Trevisan: Release Paladin, Monk, Fighter and Barbarian squadrons, with maximum weapons.

Commander Daniels: All Transports here.

Trevisan: Jack, old friend! So, you are commanding the evac now!

Daniels: Klaus, we are sending the coordinates now.

The ships hurried for the jump point.

Trevisan: All ships, jump at my mark!

Daniels: Aye, sir!

The kilrathi fleet appears on the other side of the system.

Trevisan: Now!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--TCS Wakizashi: Bridge, 1650--

Rear Admiral Donini, the Task Force Executive Officer was looking the situation from the Bridge. The transports just jumped to the Roche system. Now, it's up to them to hold position until the TCS Katana comes back with the reinforcements.

Captain Roberto Xavier, his XO and former Commanding Officer of the Wakizashi before he was relieved from duty, asks him for a decision.

Xavier: What will we do?

Donini(over comm): To all ships of the Task Force! Launch all of your fighters! Stay in a line formation!

All fighters take off from the cruisers. At the same time, hundreds of Kilrathi fighters take off from the 20 Fraltha there.

Donini: All fighters, attack their bombers! Execute Attack Plan Alpha!

Each pair of bomber was escorted by 4 medium or light fighters, and gone for the Fraltha. The remaining fighters attacked the Kilrathi bombers.

Donini: Now, only luck can save us.

Chapter 2

Hey dudes, here is the second part. Thanks for anyone that readed this. I know this is too late, but i dedicate this to the astronauts that died at the beginning of this mount aboard the STS-107 Columbia.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Over Sedan(Maginot II), Maginot System, 1700--

The TCS Columbia was the heaviest capital ship in service. With 850/800 cm phase shields and 900/900/900/900 cm armor and a expanded flight deck, the 940-meter modified Bengal-class strike carrier was the Special operations ship of the fleet. It was very tough, and it's 80 fighters make it even more hard to destroy. It could engage three Ralatha(using it's fighters) and have a chance to win.

Commodore Louis Zeoli, the captain of the ship was a old friend of Vice Admiral Trevisan. They were in the same academy class, and served together at the TCS Europa, and only parted ways when then-Commander Klaus got the command of the Bengal-class carrier TCS Kipling. Commodore Zeoli got his rank at the TCS Columbia, where he got a position of Executive officer some time after transferring to the ship. When the Captain of the TCS Columbia died, his old friend appointed Lou, as he was called, to the position of TCS Columbia's captain. He handpicked his Executive officer, Commander Korik, a Firekkan male from Firekka, that shown his tactical skills and his leadership abilities.

Korik: Atten-shun! Enemy ships In-koming, Kep-tain!

12 Grikath bombers appeared, with their 36 torpedoes locked at the capital ship.

Lou: All hands, brace for impact!

The 36 light torpedoes would have blown a ship, but the Columbia managed to survive. Now it was falling into Sedan base.

Lou: Helm, evade!

Korik: Krushev is dead, Kep-tain! We lost helm controls!

Lou: Evacuate ship!

Korik: Are you going to do what i am thinking, Kep-tain?

Commander Korik knew too much his commanding officer, to imagine that he is going to fire everything that he can before the ship explodes.

Lou: Hell yeah!

Korik: There is torpedoes only for one burst! This will not work, Kep-tain!

Lou: Get outta here and lemme die!

Louis Zeoli knew he was going to die. He wanted to do so with honor and make his sacrifice valid.

Lou: Korik, go to Earth and tell Joan that i loved her. This is the last thing i ask you.

The jump point opens, and a ship exits.

Lou: See ya in the hell, bastards!

Then, he pressed the button that fired a volley of missiles at the jump point, obstructing it. He allowed himself a smile, before the ship crashed in the Sedan Starbase, destroying it's empty hangar bay.

--Cockpit: Sabre Fighter(Paladin 01)--

Marco: Paladin 1 to Paladin squadron, fall back to point Zeta-Gamma-Beta!

Brigadier Marco "Crusader" Almada Curtis was one of the top aces aboard the TCS Katana. With more than 60 confirmed kills, he hadn't been promoted because he wanted to stay with his flight wing, and didn't wanted to be a CAG. He personally took command of the Paladin Squadron, replacing a Mandarin that gone to the Kilrathi fleet during the Draga engagement. He was one of the few veterans of the TCS Katana. The squadron was entirely composed by newbies in Sabres.

Paladins: Aye, sir!

While the eight surviving fighters were fleeing, the ninth was being attacked by three Jalkehi. Obviously, Second Lieutnant Adam "Orca" Smith was killed, as even an ace hardly could survive to that odds.

Marco: Everyone, prepare to get the 3 Jalkehi! Blade, Vampire, Tex, Junior, get the only Jalthi. Lionheart, DaVinci, Lancelot, you get the first Jalkehi. The last is mine.

Each group leaved the formation to do what was ordered to them. Only Crusader's Jalkehi continued to go towards him, the others going to engage the enemy groups.

Marco: Spare missiles, peope!

The Jalkehi opened fire. Marco's Sabre barely managed to evade the shots.

Marco: Let's dance, kitty.

Kilrathi: Die, human!

Firing another burst, the Kilrathi pilot failed to notice that his shields were down, after a succeful burst from Crusader. He got a lock on the Jalkehi's engines, and opened fire. The Kilrathi heavy fighter still had to take one more Mass Driver + Particle Cannon burst to die. When it finnaly exploded, Crusader took a look in the situation. 2Lts Michael "Tex" Wayne, Daniel "Blade" Christiansen, Pedro "Vampire" Meyer, Peter "Lionheart" Chen, and Commander Herman "Lancelot" Monmany, died in combat. But all Jalkehi were killed, and three other Grikath were shot down.

Suddenly, Dorkathi-class transports appeared from the jump point. From thirty-three, seventeen were blown when they hitted either the debris of a Fraltha or the retard action torpedoes launched by the Columbia.

Marco: Hit burners, people! We got sixteen transports to kill!

When the three pilots reached the transports, they immediatly fired everything they had, blowing nine transports. Suddenly, Ivan "DaVinci" Petrov - the ship's most skilled artist and one of the veteran pilots - fighter was hit by all fourteen flak cannons that the surviving Dorkathi had.

Marco: Junior, form on my wing.

Junior: Aye, sir.

John "Junior" Windmill was son of a freighter pilot, that was killed. Brigadier Marco was there at the engagement where his father died being one of the Wingman that disobeyed orders from the Wing Commander to protect the freighter.

Both pilots fought the best they could, trashing other four freighters, until they were shot down over atmosphere. Luckily, they managed to eject.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Sedan Headquadters--

Two ejection pods fall nearby the base.

Trooper: Colonel, two ejection pods fell nearby the base.

Thren: Rolak, Pavlov, Marshall, Wright, Stuart, Abrahams, Souza, Gonçalves, Rodriguez, Ivanov, Leur, come on!

The 12 troopers ran to the position where the pods were found.

Thren: Let's open that pods.

Two pilots are found there.

Thren: Who are you?

Crusader: Brigadier Marco "Crusader" Almada, and my wingman is Second Lieutnant John "Junior" Windmill. There are three Dorkathi coming. Are your boys ready?

Thren: Aye, sir!

Crusader: How many troopers you got there?

Thren: Nine hundred ninety-nine, SIR!

Crusader: Wrong. Now you have a thousand.

Thren: Are you sure that you are ready?

Crusader: Let's kick ass!

Thren: Colonel Thren for all units! Get ready! R & R team, fall back to base!
