extracting P2 IFF files

hi there,
I wonder if anyone has ever achieved something on that front, I've browsed some forum pages back and found nothing about it...
The only thing that looked promising enough was a small bit of code over at HCl's page: http://hcl.wcrevival.de/information/bigf.c
Though I do not know how to compile it, could anyone give it a shot?

I compiled the bigf.c file it extracts the .BIG files from privateer 2 can't seem to open the files it dumps though as they are proprietary formats .shp and .fat I am loking into this.
