Silly question, perhaps, but where was the bridge and crew quarters located on a Durango, or, specifically, on the BWS Intrepid?

In the story we are told that a Confed destroyer(?) ambushed them while they were waiting for Eisen and destroyed the bridge and most of the crew, and later Blair and Maniac look up at a gaping hole where they presumably were, from the inside.

I'm just curious...where on the ship were they located? Was there supposed to be some superstructure or tower sticking off the top of the hull that housed them, that was blown off by the time we saw the Intrepid? Or were they housed within the hull and just decompressed or engulfed in an internal firestorm or whatever?

Just curious, but I've always wondered what the Intrepid would have looked like (from the outside) before the attack... Do we know?

Good question - but there's no missing superstructure. We see a 'complete' Durango in the form of the BWS Tango at one point in Wing Commander IV. Compare these two images:

The bridge and berths were where the former ship is blackened.

Yeah, in the FMV there are two rows of windows on the section at the top that I assume were the berths and Bridge. All but two or three windows on the lower right are black. Also if you were looking at the ship from the rear the windows on what would be the right hand side are black in that top section as well.

Hmmm... At first, I never noticed a difference between Intrepid and Tango. Now I see that Intrepid is damaged and Tango isn't.
