I've been posting so many controversial topics...

but let me start with my answer to the question above.

YES!!! I still have faith that another Wing Commander game or movie or novel will come out into the stores... and perhaps... Chris Roberts' name shall be known throughout history as one of the visionaries in the entertainment industry.

Remember the words: What we do in life echoes for eternity? :blink:

Chris Roberts, a young man had an idea and a vision. And through that, plus added _effort_ and _guided teamwork_ we've played and experienced one of the first of the best game series ever to exist on this planet.

Anyone who disagree with me, pls voice your opinion in a _civil_ (no _insults, no _offensive words... but joking and humor is allowed still) manner.

As long as people still come here, Wing Commander LIVES! I TELL YOU! WING COMMANDER LIVES!!!

I'm hoping for a new WC movie...something like Pearl Harbor, except better, and about McAulifffe.

Please forgive my incoherent babbling.
 
after seeing the half-buttoxed job they did on the WC movie, I would MUCH rahter have a new video game ending the Bug "trilogy". And YES, I believe, and hope with all my heart, that it WILL happen.

I like the WC movie, but only if I consider it a NON-WC movie... I mean, I view the movie completely seperate from the WC universe (of games), just with the same name.
 
let's PLEASE not get into this argument again :)

(I view it as my perogative to view imaginative universes to my liking, especially when they're MEANT to be enjoyed by ME/You/Whoever... but let's get back on topic)
 
First, the movie is a part of the WC Universe. Second, We got a new CD coming. :)

Wing Commander is definitely alive and well.

I don't mind if EVERYONE ELSE enjoys the WC Movie as canon, I just refuse to, plain and simple, so PLEASE don't bug me about it...

And does anyone here know when the WC CD will be coming out?

Yeah but... it's not your prerogative, as much as you wish it were. If it is part of WC, it is, and no amount of perspective and "well, to me it isn't"ing will change that :)

There isn't a doubt in my mind that there will eventually be another Wing Commander game. I'm just getting tired of waiting for it. However, like Meson said, the Wing Commander CD that we were all hoping for is on the way. That should be enough to keep me happy for a while. :)

By the way, the Wing Commander movie was great and it is as much a part of the Wing Commander universe as any of the games are.
 
WC is alive, with so many fans writing stories or making conversions. The new WC CD is great news and I think there will surely be a new WC game, it just could take quite some time. Remember, there's always hope.
 
WC is defiantly on life support, but still alive. I mean, we did just get a CD did we not? So maybe someone from EA is out there right now, saying, holy shiznit look at that. Then maybe they'll have a flicker of an idea and make a new game.

As for the other discussion going on, my view on the WC movie was that I didn't like it. I DO consider it canon because everyone tells me it IS, but I don't have to like it. Too much just doesn't fit. And, I think the movie was detremental to WC as in since the movie like, sucked. Those people who weren't WC fans yet saw the movie, probably won't become WC fans if they think that's what it's like.
 
If we didn't have faith in Wing Commander, we wouldn't be here.

And Wing Commander is alive. As long as we, the fans, keep it alive. Hey, one of our petitions worked, anyway. New CD on the way, that's cool.

And, hey, the Wing Commander movie (awesome flick and part of the WCU... but that's just my opinion) will be aired on the SciFi channel this summer. Not much, but at least people who haven't rented it or don't have one of those movie channels may catch it on basic cable. Whatever.
