Concordia GONE!?

So did the Midway... at least so far... I wonder if they ever do decide to make another, where our heroes will end up, the Midway or the Cerberus

The Victory survived too, in spite it being turned into a museum.

Sure, I was answering to someone who said the only the victory survived.

Actually, no carriers die IN the game we fly from them, the two of them who bought it were destroyed in the intro to the next game. :)

Oh, the lexington might die, in fact, but I was considering just the intrepid. And I always leech the lex anyway.

Officially, as per WC4N, the Lex was just disabled, not killed.

(Game has seperate cutscenes for disabling [leeching, since the game engine didn't allow for the novel's method for disabling the Lex] and blowing up, so book makes the call.)

Nice, I read the book a long time ago... I didn't remember which path it chose. I remember the two cutscenes though. They're not REAAALLY all that different, but you sure can tell that the lex dies in one and stays alive in the other.

The book's choice makes sense, it's more blair-like to leech a confed carrier.

The "official" version is more or less just a "mission kill", detonating a torp in front of the launch bays, throwing the carrier's launch gear out of whack enough that attempting to launch would've been suicidal. Since the game doesn't allow for intentionally premature detonation of torpedoes, or partial damage like that, leeching was made the "disable" option (and that only if you defected the first time; if you didn't defect till later you had to kill the Lex, as you fly that mission in the Hellcat in which you defected, which of course doesn't have leech weaponry available to it except for the missiles, which IIRC don't totally take out a carrier).

no, six leech missles dont take out the lex, I just tried it. it shows up on radar as disabled, but those lasers sure arent!

First time through I destroyed her as well. When I was playing through it again at a later time I think I just leeched it to see if I would still win the mission, little did i know I'd get a cool alternate cut scene.
