I kinda liked the torpedo only limitation in WC2, it added a challange to some of the missions.

Same here, it took much more skill to take out a capship. Though I really like how you take out the capships in Prophecy/SO.
quote:
The one that sticks in my mind is the last one in Specials Ops 1 where you face two Ralatha.

Everyone I know has problems with that mission.
It's the hardest bombing mission I flew in WC.
quote:
There was a similar mission towards the end of SO2 only you were in a Morningstar with a mace and couple Torps again against two Ralatha escorted by some Mandarin Sabres.

Ah, but that mission was much easier. You could take out both Ralathas with that Mace if you got lucky, and if not you can take out one easily, and than use your torps on the second one.

quote:
That was one weakness of WC1. Once you knocked out the fuighter around a cruiser or detroyer, you could easily kill it a just a few passes.

Not if you're flying the Hornet.

quote:
I like the Prophecy approach where you have a lot of turrets that can do considerale damage but it is possible to take them out.

Ay, that's true. Being able to target turrets, and having much more of them (including the missile turrets) is a great addition to the series.
