Cant buy WCP "Secret Ops" = HELP

OK OK better late than never. I have been recently converted as a WC NUT.

MY PROBLEM:
I cannot find anyone or anyplace selling WCP GOLD edition with the "Secret OPS"

PLEASE HELP anyone who knows where I can get a copy of the Secret OPS.

I would love to own/buy a genuine retail version of the game but so far it's been tough during my search.

You are a U.S. resident right? The WC games normaly are on the darkest corner of the game stores, where no one can see them. You will have to explore. Or, you could... buy it at Ebay (there should be a song with this title). And you could even... sory young grasshoper, but this way leads to the dark side. Stay on the light and fight the good fight.
 
That´s what I was talking about. It's "piracy" 'cause Secret Ops came with WCP Gold wich it's still on the shops.
 
You can still download the first episode I believe (which is about 100MB), but none of the extra episodes. I don't know why EA have left the initial download online still, because its not much use unless you want to play the first episode over and over again. Maybe its to encourage people to get really frustrated, then go and fork out $60 on ebay for it :)

I must say this was one of the few WC games I did have some luck getting last month. There was an online store here in Australia that still had some new copies available. Wish it was that easy to get all other WC games !
 
I had no idea it was piracy. I though CIC might have a download site somewhere in its deepest darkest recesses...
 
Prophecy Gold is available in a compilation pack here (the UK) (with Red Alert and another game). Its cheap but the manual is on the disc not printed.
If you want I could purchase a copy and forward it to you if you pay me for both the game and shipping or you could find a company which ships internationally.
 
Yes, you're allowed to download the first episode -- it was supposed to be a 'demo' for Prophecy Gold. It's also usefull if you want to play some of the neat fan-made SO missions and other mods out there...
 
EA is offering an upgrade from Prophecy to Prophecy Gold by sending in 29 bucks and the manual and or one of the cd's from your original Prophecy game. They send you Prophecy Gold which has all of the SO missions. I think this is still being offered. Check the news archives for addy info etc.

Was that the one with the CD? It actually comes up every week, and I bid every week, but never get it :-) Its quite funny really, because it sells for "buy now" at $15, and nobody ever buys it, but then the bidding usually goes up to $15 anyway ... ah the joys of ebay !

I'm sort of hoping that I'll eventually get a copy before he runs out of them. Next time we should check with each other, so as not to be bumping the price up between us ;)

I actually wrote to EA to ask about this offer (since I got a copy of prophecy, before I managed to get prophecy gold), and I never heard back from them :(

If I had a dollar for everytime I'd written to a big name company's "contact-for-help" email address, and got no reply ... well ... um ... well, I'd have ... oooh at least 4 dollars !
 
Perhaps that layoff thing might have something to do with the lack of response from EA. They dont seem to be concerned with people wanting that Gold offer. This really says alot about them (EA). Very bad business policies.

You cant find the first episode of SO? Link thru the CIC news page, should be able to find it easy if you found those others! :)

That was exactly what I was looking for. Damn, I only have a dial up. I have to get my cable boy buddy to download it for me now.

Anyways, I have to agree with some of the guys here. What the heck is goin' on with Origin and EA? I was thinking about writting a letter too but not if it's goin' to be ignored.

EA should be happy that I honestly want to buy a full version. I'm not even asking anyone to burn it for me...cough...cough. (Did I say that?)

Anyways I hope the download works. I was an old Ultima Online player and if the code has the quality of programing we used to GET FROM OSI then i'm in trouble. hahah.

In general, Origin has been known for quality code... when something makes enough money to have EA notice it, you're in trouble, because they'll want to start selling it *RIGHT NOW*...
