Hey, Loaf:

You mean there's Broadswords in the WCM?... I musta missed 'em. Tell me, in what scenes do they appear (so I can review the movie & find 'em)?...

Why does everybody assume that LOAF is the only guy that knows anything around here?

In the movie, we see Paladin and Knight piloting Broadswords when the Claw is attacked after entering the Ulysses Corridor and then Chris McCubbin (Chris Roberts) is flying one, IIRC, toward the end.

I only addressed it to Loaf 'cuz he was the one that referred to it in the latest CIC posting. No offense intended to any other WC mavens...:)

also you see em during the scenes before the Claw is attacked when they are arguing as to whether or not to turn around to the claw or to attack the transports

If this is going in the direction I fear, then let me say you: Yes, the Broadswords in the movie look completely different than those in the games. It's probably the same thingy as with the Rapiers...

Actually, no. I just didn't recall seeing any other small Confed ships besides Rapiers in the WCM. Cap ships and Paladin's ship (whateverit'snamewas), sure, but I didn't recall seeing anything else.

I can't remember for sure if Taggart's ship in the beginning was either a Diligent-class vessel or just named "Diligent". Anyone know when he aquired the Bonnie Heather?

Speaking about the Confed ships, they could have done a lot better for the designs in the movie, a LOT better.

All I remember is that it's a "Requesitioned Merchantman". Diligent was the name. I'm too lazy to check the WCM Handbook. :)

Paladin aquired the Bonnie Heather during the incident with the Firekkans (the details of the first mission of the Heather are given in the book 'Freedom Flight')

TC

The full name of Paladin´s ship is:

Proxima Spaceworks Errant:

Christened: Diligent
Class Merchantman
Length:25 meters
Mass:100 tonnes
Cruise Vel: 100 kps
Max Vel: 150 kps
Weapons: 2 forward hardpoints; 1 turret hardpoint amidship
Armor/shields:Optional

The First Errants were produced in 2614

The Dilligent in the movie is an Errant class ship.

The Bonnie Heather *was* around before Freedom Flight, though... just without Paladin as her captain. She appears in the SWC/KS manuals, in the ComNet story about Maniac's fifth kill.

...
"i knew ol' Devereux could take care of the Bonnie heather"added maniac.

could the Bonnie have been on a mission, or would it still be "just a ship" then

StarLancer and movie similarities

In case you didn't know, a possible reason that the broadswords look like the Hades Bombers from SL, and the Snakeir (and the other Kilrathi capships) looks like the Reliant from SL is that Digital Anvil made the effects for the movie and StarLancer.
