Bondarevski

Spaceman
Just if anyone could quickly confirm this for me, I'm having a bit of trouble remembering the answer and my book copy of the "Heart of the Tiger" has gone missing. Did Jason "Bear" Bondarevsky captain any of the Victory's escorts in WC3?

Bondarevsky, at the time of WC3, was in command of the destroyer Coventry, which was a part of the Victory's force. At the Behemoth debacle, Coventry's bridge was hit and Bondarevsky lost one of his hands.
From there, we next see him in False Colors, where he is a main character, if not the main character. He is also mentioned in the WC4 novel in Blair's first scene with Tolwyn, where Blair remembers that Bondarevsky rose to command a squadron of "jeep" escort carriers. Without knowing the exact timeframe of this memory, there can be speculation as to whether this does or does not coincide with the information in the WC3 novel.

He was captain of the Coventry, but was also in charge of the destroyer group for the Victory. Blair mentioned about the success of the Jeep carriers, one of which Bonderevsky was captain of (TCS Tarawa) but didnt mention Bonderevsky by name.

He mentioned he was in charge of the destroyer group, but not the jeep carriers. He was only ever a captain of the Tarawa before the False Truce and then he was in charge of the destroyer group for the Victory.

Jason was a Commodore commanding DesRon-67 during WC3... and his pennant was onboard the TCS Coventry.

The Wing Commander IV novel vaugely references a number of things that were to happen in the False Colors 'trilogy'... including Jason becoming a Rear Admiral commanding a fleet of escort carriers. Which means that he takes over the Landreich fleet at some point after FC...

and since the other 2 books in that trillogy were never written, we will never know exactly what was to happen then.

Bondarevsky probably went on to kick ass in the Landreich and put down the conspiracy from the Belisarius Group and the ambitious politico in the Landerich gov't, I can't remember who...Not Kruger though...

LOAF, think we could convince that crazy ol hermit beyond the Dune Sea... old man Forstchen... to write Andrew Keith's novels based on the man's notes? :)

Or at least get the ball rolling in that direction until it hits into Baen?

I take it that Andrew Keith is the writer of the 1st book of this (never completed) trilogy?... I've only been able to get my hands on 3 of the WC novels thus far.

Just what the heck is a "jeep carrier"? I read the WC4 novel, and I don't recall any mention or description of what these are. Can anyone clear this up 4 me?

Apparantly for the most part he was.

Jeep Carriers are the same thing as Escort carriers like the Tarawa, transports converted into light carriers.

There would have supposedly been a war between the Landreich and Confed...
