I just kind of wanted to see this thread in a forum where people aren't replying to it every ten seconds.

I still have a hard time thinking of you as Ben instead of LOAF.

As for my question, does this mean that even though you’ve become a big time celebrity you’re still going to have time for us little people at the CIC?:p

I kind of fear the day some of the RSI'ers learn about #wingnut.

I'm glad you didn't decide to get into the CR job by starting at the kiddy end of the pool, but went right for the deep end... of the shark aquarium.

I think all of my questions were answered. When do you think the big hiring push will begin?

I have a question! As far as squadron 42 goes, are we looking at sparing use of missiles like in WC1 or will we see more rockets and variety with more heavy loadouts kind of in the vein of Prophecy?

Thank you kindly Loaf. That thread only seems to have slowed down when you stopped responding to it for a week... a couple of hours on average between posts is still a lot though.

    I feel for you.

Anyway, I have several questions that got lost in the large number of fairly repetitive questions and almost as repetitive answers by others:
Q1: I know it is rather early for detail questions about the alpha, but is there a plan to include some rudimentary friends list system for the alpha testing so that pre-developed squads can meet up and start practicing teamwork in the game?
Q2: Will corvettes and destroyers have the option to add docking clamps that fighters and maybe bombers can attach to, probably an upgrade that takes away a module slot and/or turret?
Q3: I realize that this being a space sim that character development will be fairly freeform in the persistent universe. Does CR plan to add in any character creation features related to character backgrounds or will this be something left up to the players.
Q4: Would you guys consider creating small physical models for the hornet and perhaps even a package that is like “Come Fly with Me” only it has a Hornet instead of the Constellation?
Q5: I was just reading the Odin System dossier and it got me thinking. Will there be missions made available (ie given by the local or faction government or by large NPC corporations) where a pilot (perhaps only citizens in good standing especially including former military pilots) can patrol an area around a jump point and scan the cargo holds of passing ships for contraband? Effectively acting as cheap police for the poorer systems. Perhaps a pilot would get paid for successful patrol of a series of nav points during a time period and would be paid bonus funds for things like contraband retrieval, destruction and/or capture of the smuggler with or without the ship, or even destruction of the contraband itself. I am assuming from within the game universe, the government or corporation would access the PC ship’s blackbox to confirm actual completion of the set out goals. There might even be ways for players to alter their blackboxes for nefarious purposes.

The news article about Tom Wilson’s autobiography got me thinking, if you ever write one I think it should be titled “The Curious Case of Benjamin LOAF”.

    Hi LOAF,

Clarification needed on the Idris-class corvette; did the $1 mil goal give everyone who pledged on KS an actual ship, or did it just allow the Idris to become earnable?

LOAF, I had an interesting thought. Will we be able to use barges for cargo transport. That is rent or buy large 10,000 to 1,000,000 ton capacity cargo bays that only have maneuvering thrusters that the player can dock his Lancer, Constellation, or similar transport ship to as a tug in order to move very large loads. I was thinking very slow acceleration and maneuverability but massive cargo capacity. If attacked a player's best option would be to undock and let the barge drift while engaging the enemy unless one has an escort of course.

I got the idea from the SS Presque Isle.

That thread over at RSI is crazy... I like it here where LOAF is LOAF and he can be mean and change the avatars of those who ask stupid questions. :D

Speaking of which, how many people are currently working in Star Citizen? How is working with Chris Roberts?

That sounds like an interesting idea. I had been expecting something more like in Privateer 2, where you hire a large (unarmed) freighter to haul cargo and you escorted it to its destination. The barge idea is neat, and perhaps more expensive barges have better shields and armor or even point defense turrets.
