That's the DOS prompt, where you start the game.

Usage:
1) To use the Password you MUST exit the game and run armada followed by the Password. Ex: armada.exe -!PASSWORD
2) The game will start as normal, but you MUST go into One Player mode and select Gauntlet Mode.
3) Choose your race (ie: Confederation or Kilrathi)
4) If you typed in the password correctly it will tell you it was accepted.

armada.exe -!PASSWORD is the type-in example. Make sure you put the space after .exe and the dash after the space.

You might need to install this patch. As I recall, the gauntlet password functionality was not in the game out of the box, but Origin released this patch on their BBS some time after the game was out.
