Some things I like about Wing Commander 4

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you destroy the Ella superbase either by flashpack or conventional means, don't you get the downer ending of Blair becoming the new head of the Black Lance? Or is that just if you use the FP? Anyway, I like the mega-happy ending, so I just sneak past the base.

Some things I like about Wing Commander 4

WCIV was the first WC game I ever played (on the Playstation back in 1997), but I didn't get to play the superior PC version until my sophomore year in college, around 2004. I love the hell out of it, but looking back, the gameplay leaves a lot to be desired. It's mostly just playing through to...

    DragonCon Continues (September 4, 2010)

Actually, he didn't look that old in the Enterprise finale, which was only five years ago, but a generous application of Grecian formula can work wonders! :) I'm not talking smack about the guy, it was just sort of a surprise when I finally recognized who it was.

    DragonCon Continues (September 4, 2010)

I only recognized Frakes after seeing the sign behind you guys and the autograph on the shirt. He's looking pretty old.

Did you like the Wing Commander movie?

I like the flick. I was sick at home last week and watched it for the first time in three years. Just hearing the music and watching the opening credits takes me back to being a 14-year-old Wing Commander fan. The movie is by no means perfect. It has its painful moments (any interaction...

    SAaB Coming to DVD

Yeah, I noticed Best Buy is selling X-Files DVDs for fifty bucks a pop... used to be they were 100+... There aren't that many shows I'd buy anyway, but TNG and DS9 are a couple, so I guess I can wait a few more years and they'll go down in price. Ah, vell.

    SAaB Coming to DVD

DVD boxsets are too expensive for me. I'd love to get Star Trek: TNG and DS9, but they're waaaaay too pricey. That said, Space Above and Beyond was pretty cool from what I saw. Very Wing Commander-ish vibe to it.

    Land of the Dead

I'm a zombie fan, and I'm really looking forward to Land of the Dead. Romero's Dead movies are some of my faves. Another favorite is Lucio Fulci's "Zombi 2," but avoid his pretty terrible "Zombi 3," and the even worse "Zombi 4," by Bruno Mattei. Fulci's "Gates of Hell" is pretty good, too, but...

    Team America

Team America is hilarious, but a lot of the humor (Michael Moore blowing up Mt. Rushmore) is very timely and topical, and will probably lose something ten years down the line. Same with most recent episodes of South Park. Having said that, the "Montage" song is pure gold.

    Star Wars Episode III Tickets

Yeah, I'm a nerd, but it's nice to see I'm not the only one. I already have my ticket for the midnight showing.

    Hobbes funeral

I remember seeing it on the PlayStation version a looooong time ago, and I could never get it again. Maybe it was a hallucination.

    An "academic" discussion...

Valid points, but... In the movie, Paladin is flying the Diligent, a completely different ship. We've come to understand, that Paladin was transferred to Covert Ops by Tolwyn to investigate Pilgrim sabotage of the Confed war effort, hence his position at the start of the WC movie. The events...
